Learn & Leave
May 18, 2022 - Anonymous Employee in Lexington, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You can learn a lot because of the ever changing company priorities - you're constantly putting out fires. There's room to grow because you'll always be doing more than one job. Inevitably someone else on your team will quit, so you might get a promotion due to that.
Cons
A lot... upper management follows the CEO's lead or they get cut. Sr. Director/Director level tries their best to follow the changing priorities and usually, the good ones leave after 1-2 years for their resumes sake. Some room to grow in the middle, but you will work really hard to do it and there is NO work/life balance unless you happen to have a good manager. Lowest level/entry level personnel are subject to favoritism as their only chance at advancement. Overall - it is a toxic environment & everyone is scared to even walk by the C-Suites. No unique or fun retention or engagement programs either.

Do yourself a favor and run away fast
Jan 1, 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Free lunches (during pandemic) Mediocre benefits Some good people in the RA space
Cons
If you are below the director level, they have absolutely no respect for you as a person. The most hierarchical place I have ever worked. If your superior has an issue or your group has an issue, the blame will be put on the lowest ranking person. Never have I felt so disrespected and bullied. Makes you feel like you’re terrible at science and at being a team player. Communication distribution to the group as a whole needs a lot of work. Curiosity and learning is discouraged. HR is useless and will side with whoever has the higher rank. The c suite is all tight personally and don’t understand the work or care about the people below them. As another review said, the directors are competitive with each other to the detriment of the groups that work for them. I also have never been in such a misogynistic a workplace, women definitely had their work cut out for them compared to the men. They also tend to hire at a lower title and pay than most deserve. Expect you to put the company above everything else in your life.

Good scientific environment, good colleagues
Cons
High work demand and expectations from managers, slow promotion
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
The team I had was great and everyone was very friendly. Free parking & lunch
Cons
A significant amount of the processes in place are extremely bogged down by outdated systems and a lack of interest in investment. It is extremely clear that there is a disconnect between upper management/the executives and what the employees need/want. Work life balance is truly up in the air and dependent on one's own philosophy as some work until the late hours of the night while others clock out right at 5. While there is no issue with either there is also no clear vision from the company as to what is best practice. While I do think there are some remarkable people who work here the focus from what I've seen is on the brand, rather than the company's best assets which are the people.

A Company with Potential, but needs improvement
Apr 23, 2021 - Scientist in Lexington, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
work-life balance was ok, lunch seminars were nice
Cons
No uniform treatment of promotion or career advancement. The entire HR department left, leaving a skeleton crew.

Amazing opportunity for those of who work hard for it
Apr 6, 2021 - Senior Scientist in Lexington, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's a small enough company to get that innovation and opportunity to work with multiple teams. If you are energetic and willing to put extra efforts into your ideas, you can definitely do it at your expense. If you put in the time and effort you can get visibility and opportunity to collaborate on different projects. I personally was able to advance and learn so much thanks to the opportunity I didn't let it pass by.
Cons
Typical issues with many companies also exist here especially in these covid times. Lots of turn over and some disorganization with constant changing priorities.
