    Advice to Management

    You're doing a pretty good job, keep up.

    I have been working at AgileAssets full-time

    Pros

    * People are friendly
    * Great industry to be in right now
    * Location
    * High potential
    * Great benefits
    * Great CEO and upper management

    Cons

    * Talented but disengaged developers
    * Most are not "proud" of what they are working on
    * Overall immature SDLC process leading to scapegoating for projects not meeting expectations
    * People in constant fear of layoffs due to impending failure and recent keystone employee exits. Overall incentive to innovate is very low. Most people care more about job security more than company growth, which creates a fear-based culture that stagnates towards mediocrity.
    * People seemingly rewarded based on how many useless Confluence pages they can make

    Advice to Management

    Establish trust and transparency within your teams. Do not reward backstabbing or scapegoating behavior stemmed from fear of losing jobs. Focus on company growth and innovation and the overall big picture. Do not waste more time reworking failed projects. Fail fast and pivot.

    I have been working at AgileAssets full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The team is generally nice, the office is spacious, and I really like the location. I seek a job, not a family here.

    Cons

    The company is in rapid internal management strategy. They could invest more/better in the core product, I feel. They are playing catch-up to cloud based hosting. The tech stack (Java/Oracle) is a touch crusty but quite serviceable. They offer little to no career development options for senior members.

    Advice to Management

    Embrace strategies that increase internal confidence in our offerings and delivery.

    Pros

    Stable company with huge growth potential. Excellent salary, benefits, and work environment. Smart people who are making a difference in infrastructure asset management.

    Cons

    Growing faster than we can add office space.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work.

    Pros

    Unlimited opportunities to share your experience and develop new experience. Because the company is growing, you have opportunities to contribute beyond your standard job description. People are interested in constantly improving and the employees are very genuine and collaboration is welcome.

    Cons

    With any growing company their are challenges as you take on new opportunities, so less established processes, and sometimes you have to learn through experience

    Advice to Management

    Continue to work on scaling the business and standardizing the product

    I worked at AgileAssets full-time

    Pros

    Employees are very focused on developing a great product; Salaries are above average; Schedules are flexible; Managers of Consultants truly care about the professional development of their direct reports

    Cons

    Benefits are average. AgileAssets experienced a 10% company-wide workforce reduction (2015) - likely due to the rapid, ineffective hiring and financial forecasting during the last 12 months. The result was an unsupportable, staffing imbalance that forced personnel cuts.

    Advice to Management

    Take your time in the hiring process. Consider a little more due diligence before hiring. Understand that hiring someone too quickly just to provide a name on a service proposal could negatively impact the future of other people in the company.

    Pros

    Nice building and location

    Cons

    This company does not have a clue how to manage projects. I joined them and was handed a complete train wreck in the first week. No project plan (at least no one could find one) Status reports were incomplete and out of date. They said it was okay since they were the sub-contractors? That does not fly when they have to answer "what if" questions for suspending the project . AA is more interested in being "Texas friendly" and looking to pin failures on newly hired staff than managing projects that can withstand external auditing.

    Advice to Management

    Sell the company or find a third-party vendor to build a professional project office to manage their projects.

    Pros

    The People! Work/life balance. Incredible facilities. Great accommodations. Competitive salary. Good opportunities for advancement. Lots of very nice and well educated people. There is dramatic workplace diversity here which is really cool.

    Cons

    I have that rare 'this is too good to last' feeling that I hope will go away at some point.

    Advice to Management

    You're on the right path. I believe recent changes in structure will pay dividends in the coming months. I would start thinking hard about a divergent SaaS offering on a new platform (code, app server & database) that scales better at a lower cost.

    Pros

    Good Pay, they definitely offer a high salary compared to average pay for a given position. The friendly work environment is a plus. Colleagues and managements are very supportive and helpful.

    Cons

    The management must be more careful about employee's performance.
    Workload is not fair...some people work 24 hours and some have nothing to do.

    Advice to Management

    Keep awarding the people working hard and efficient.

    Pros

    Small company with global clients, diverse and well-educated workforce. Great place to work if you like helping a company take it to the next level - solid history to stand on, but customers and employees are ready for improvement. Management supportive of employees' ideas, career interests and work / life-balance needs.

    Cons

    Company has growing pains. Software and processes need improvement but therein lies the opportunity for the right person.

    Advice to Management

    Continue awarding people for their hard work - those on the spot awards are a nice way to regularly recognize hard work and achievement. Consider development of 5 or 6 core values for culture.
