I worked at Air Serv full-time

    Pros

One or two reason to work for Air ServCorp is that it’s an easy job that allows you to meet new and interesting people day in and day out. It is also a great way to continue school with shifts that are available.

    Cons

The cons are that it’s not as organized as they present themselves to be. The training given to you if any is by other agents and not by a supervisor. Meaning that, if the agents felts that you might be dipping in his/hers pockets; that they’d show you the bare minimum just to get you by.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be way more professional. During my time there, management knew for a fact that one of the supervisors would make some of the staff members do very inappropriate things with him with the result that he’d grant them the schedule they desired. He was never terminated or even written up for misconduct. Once I had solid proof that this was happening, I resigned. The pay is HORRENDOUS. And my biggest issue was that management would allow airline staff to treat us terribly. The reason this took place is because management also treated us terribly. They would use profanity when addressing us and speak ill of us to other employees while we were off the clock. With that said, my advice to corporate, because I highly doubt they knew any of this was taking place, make surprise visits to the different cities regularly and speak with the PAs. You’ll be surprised at what you discover.

I worked at Air Serv full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Meet a lot of new people, thats about it. there was nothing good about this job

    Cons

Everyone in the company is gossip oriented, conniving human beings.
If you weren't one management's favored employee, it was not a good time for you.
the rules only applied to certain people
you cant use the bathroom more than twice a day or else you are required a doctor's note
Management does not have your back, you are left to fend for yourself regardless of the circumstances.
    no benefits what so ever
arent allowed to call off the day before or after a holiday, or else immediate termination regardless of what happened.
no raises regardless how long you've been with the company
point system oriented, everything is one point.

    Advice to Management

Be more professional, having relationships with employees is not okay. Learn how to speak to another adult. Be more compassionate to all of your employees, not just a hand full. Be more respectful. Learn the rules and regulations and understand that they also apply to you.

TSA and AA workers are disrespectful and look down on you as a security guard.

    Pros

Exciting Airport Environment if you just care to help and assisst people. Not just for the money then your work ethic may not be the best .

    Cons

    Lack of organization
Disrespectful : Treats everyone like highschoolers
    Do not listen
    Prejudiced

    Advice to Management

Have sense and realise that everyone in the world is the same no matter what color or where they came from, everyone will go 10 feet down. Treat people the way you want to be treated and maybe five employees wont leave everyday and you have to find five more . That is why there will always be openings and ABM will always have job fairs. Maybe that's what the hiring agents want who knows.

The hiring process alone is a pain. They call you to come early before anyone arrives at the office. Then you get there and have to wait for 3 hours sometimes and they can forget you, you go to window and the spanish people look at you and look off. There is a lot of runaround and they forget to do simple things on your paper work then you have to be returning to the office again and again and starting over. You have to bend for them but if you have other job responsibilities etc do not expect them to do the same. You are to forget all other jobs and engagements even if you are just doing this on the side which is what is a good thing to do because they do not respect you and you are treated like all the other high school children who come to work. If you are an immigrant expect to be treated like a third class citizen who is hungry for work and can not find anything better. I do not suck up and I treat people with respect so advice to management especially for hiring process, the people in office need to get it together. The same way they want workers to perform, employees are looking at the organization and how they are treated. Apart from the Hiring officers , and maybe two other employees in the office, the other spanish people are rude and do not care anything about you. Even if someone just needs a job and money, money is not everything...how you treat people will last longer because no one can take money with them. Black white , english, french, spanish everyone deserves respect.

    Pros

Decent pay, overtime bonus, bonus for working holidays, you get 2 15 minute paid breaks every 2 hours on top of your lunch. You get a raise every few months.

    Cons

Favoritism played by supervision, certain old employee seemed to make up rules on the spot that contradicted the supervisor, and the supervisor played along with it for some reason. Poor coordination between building management and security supervision led to misunderstanding and contradicting policy.

    Advice to Management

If you stick to your own rules this would be a much better workplace.
