I worked at All Bar One full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff members were all great could have lots of banter with them. Team work made the job more enjoyable. 50% off food when working

    Cons

Silly incentives to try and boost sales if the incentive is a holiday that only one or a couple of people might win in only 1 bar people aren't really going to try too hard well at least not the people at the bottom anyway.

Badly understaffed especially on holiday periods. One busy day there was only myself and another member on the floor meaning we were both runnong round like headless chickens.

    Advice to Management

Big targets on sales as this is a bar/restaurant and not a sales firm there is only a limited amount you can do to boost those sales and also growth per restaurant will have a ceiling level. Also incentives for staff members need to be rethought. Staff members are not going to make the effort to try and sell more and be more knowledgeable about the wines without some financial incentive. Sales people wont work without commission.

If you are going to be strict on staffing hours and the general manager is asking for me maybe go and visit (hands on visit) the store on a busy period to see why they are asking for more hours.

Good tips but you work really hard and you get tired very quickly. Nice team and environment. I would recommend this job for some time.

    Cons

This job is really hard and you can be sometimes working lots of hours without break.

I have been working at All Bar One (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great team, lovely management, average wage, fair & decent tip system, flexible, manageable/variable shift lengths.

    Cons

HQ don't consider each restraraunt's individual market/area, push concepts which don't fit with target audience or real market. Customers can be difficult & rude.

    Advice to Management

Franchise management needs no improvement, higher up needs to recognise their target audience and deal with them suitably.

I worked at All Bar One full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice and friendly work environment with potentials of upgrading and developing your career into the business.Possibilities of learning valuable things about food and drinks, especially wines.

    Cons

A small lack of organization during the busy hours which can be prove to be crucial. For example, understaffed or more people working in the bar than the floor.

    Advice to Management

Organize more meetings that have to do with the staff and provide more rewards and competitions regarding sales and positive feedback.

I have been working at All Bar One full-time

    Pros

The staff are really cool, laid back and (some) are hardworking. Theres also tons of intcentives run by Mitchel & Butlers where you can win wine

    Cons

Full time = 28 hours one week then 45 the next. Really inconsistent, Lots of empty promises in terms of progression and the e-learning/safety documents/training documents are a pain in the neck. The worst aspect by far are the customers- middle aged chavs who think they are upper class. They complain about everything, have no sense of respect and almost never tip. And, seeing as your working for your tips, this is so degrading.

    Advice to Management

Please value good members of staff and keep rotas consistent. Also be more active on the floor during service hours
