I have been working at Allegro MicroSystems full-time

    Pros

    Overall the people are great
The benefits are pretty good. "competitive"
The two locations in New England are conveniently located
    Matching 401k is very nice

    Cons

    Limited career growth opportunities
Good work gets rewarded with more work instead of more pay
High level of micro-management at the top
    Highly political

    Advice to Management

Spend more time empowering your employees to do their jobs and make decisions on their own and less time micromanaging and second guessing.
Choose a long term strategy and commit to it.

I worked at Allegro MicroSystems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary and benefits; people were mostly friendly and laid back; fitness center and cafeteria on site. Appeared to have a good emphasis on IT and some technological improvement projects underway. Parking was good.

    Cons

Overly ridged environment with too many people who have been working there forever. Not a very forward-thinking, modern workplace and not particularly interested in change or new ideas. Company culture was underwhelming and boring (but not hostile or anything). Old facilities with only some cosmetic renovations to the most visible areas; overall kind of a dingy place to work. Median age of workforce is pretty high but this is likely due to geography and the pool of available candidates. Very much a local company.

    Advice to Management

As someone with over 12 years of experience in some very cutting-edge companies/industries, I have never seen planning so completely subservient to the sales-marketing group. You're going to have a tough time attracting experienced, qualified planners not used to being so underutilized in their role.
