I worked at Axiom Software Laboratories full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Amazing employee benefits - they really have done a great job in creating a program that helps their people. The only thing they don't have - for some bizarre reason - is 401K matching. But everything else is very good. Some good people here, but not enough.

    Cons

Horrible atmosphere. Sitting in a huge room with ~100 other people, no partitions or any privacy at all. Interrupted constantly by other people's conversations. It is very hard to concentrate like this. Most of management is Russian and they speak Russian all the time, so if you don't speak Russian, this is not the place for you. I was miserable my entire time here.

    Advice to Management

    None - they would't listen.

I worked at Axiom Software Laboratories full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free Bagels, Cream Cheese, & Coffee

    Cons

-Management is extremely unprofessional. They will treat you like a dog if you are not part of their inner circle. -Cut corners wherever possible, including asking employees to come in for training unpaid, only not to tell them that it’s unpaid. They ask you to leave your current employer for their training sessions, which don’t come with an offer before joining (major red flag). They use leverage over visa holders...

I have been working at Axiom Software Laboratories full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The people are nice and friendly, the benefits are amazing (free, 100% paid for by the company), the perks are comparable (free bagels, amazing coffee, casual), and the pay is comparable to other fin tech companies. There's tons of opportunity for mobility if you're willing to roll-up your sleeve and learn. If you're smart and willing, there's opportunities within the company and also the ability to travel to other AxiomSL...

I have been working at Axiom Software Laboratories full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Casual work attire. Other than that - None!

    Cons

I have been working in this hellhole for more than an year. Apart from the management and employees speaking Russian and being extremely unprofessional, they are barely literate. People get hired here mostly through referrals. Employees basically have zero career advancement opportunities. The values they talk about in the interview process have nothing to do about the way this firm works. The technology is outdated,...

I have been working at Axiom Software Laboratories full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Casual dress code, free coffee, some nice coworkers. Health benefits. 401k. location. Easy interviews.

    Cons

Poor management, politics, and red tape. Some management is just incompetent. Others belittle their subordinates, international product teams; keep people around uninformed and work their own agenda to tie all little decisions thru them. Most things are done behind closed doors. I feel that a great atmosphere of collaboration suffered a great deal. Although the platform is good, many products are extremely immature....

    Advice to Management

Maybe a good idea to take some management courses to see how things are done at top companies. Take care of company culture. Don't make quick impression of your subordinates who want to share their experience. Learn not to disregard junior people who may have some great ideas.

I have been working at Axiom Software Laboratories full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Some super smart people in key positions (CEO, HR, PMO); generous social benefits (summer dinner cruise around Manhattan; elegant holiday party) and new annual Town Hall Meeting where the CEO and COO share the direction and goals of AxiomSL and express sincere appreciation for the staff's efforts. The continued efforts to formalize administrative processes as we move from a small "mom and pop" company to a global organization...

    Cons

Some of the attitudes of the old culture remain: managers who barely talk to their direct reports much less guide them and other managers who talk a good game but don't add value.

    Advice to Management

You seem to recognize that people are your greatest asset; keep up the good work! As AxiomSL grows, it's important to recognize, too, that a company's success is measured not just by how much money it makes but by how smoothly it's run and how happy it's clients are. Sales people are great, but they are only part of the picture!

Fantastic people, fun and flexible environment. Company is doing phenomenally well and its great to be a part of it. NO layoffs, job cuts or downsizing in my 7 years here and I have been promoted 3 times already. Benefits are outstanding with a very team oriented atmosphere.
