I have been working at BPM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people at BPM are second to none! It's not often that you get an opportunity to work with people you enjoy and respect.

    Cons

It's public accounting so the hours are rough but much better than other firms (big four & other large regional firms)- I work 50-60 hours/week regularly.

    Advice to Management

I think management does a good job of listening to employee feed back and administering a great work environment. My only advice is to improve benefits.

    I worked at BPM full-time

    Pros

Good supervisors and managers, willing to take time to teach.

    Cons

Public Accounting is known for high turnover. Hard not to feel overworked during peaks and bored to death in the valleys, but that's the nature of the business.

I have been working at BPM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've had a great experience at BPM. Lots of mentors, a great team and great projects to work on. The work-life balance is great for a public accounting firm mostly because the firm strives to be flexible. There's still a ton of work but when doesn't feel like as much work because my work schedule can be customized if need be. The remote work options are the best of any firm I've worked for. They are also focused on helping women succeed in the field and have been very generous with their maternity leave policies. I recently went on leave and came back to a promotion. I don't know many places where that would happen. I honestly couldn't be happier right now. Thanks for a great place to work!

    Cons

Some managers struggle to plan and sometimes things become a last minute crisis. That may be true of any deadline-driven field though.

    Advice to Management

I love working here. Thank you!

I have been working at BPM full-time

    Pros

Friendly and professional. Great work and experience, supervision yet autonomy.
Unlike the profession in general, the team at BPM never leaves.
Those in charge are dedicated to everyone's career advancement.

    Cons

The CPA career is a difficult yet rewarding one. This career is not for everyone. Numbers don't lie. At BPM you are given a lot of freedom. If you don't live up to your commitment it will be revealed in the numbers, daily timesheets are required.

I worked at BPM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people to work for - female and male bosses, which is a nice balance. The work was challenging, and we were given lots of opportunities to step up and take on more advanced projects.

    Cons

It's public accounting, so it will never be great working conditions - lots of weekends and late nights, but that's the game.

    I worked at BPM full-time

    Pros

50 hour work-week in busy season.
Relatively good benefits, insurance and salary in the industry
Management truthfully emphasize work-life balance and try their best to ensure auditors get a life outside of work

    Cons

    Lack of big-name clients
Engagement teams' culture can vary greatly
