Probably the worst startup to work for as a developer. everything applies to BRIJ also. Binary Numbers failed as a startup so now they've changed their name to BRIJ to avoid negative feedback The manager calls himself a Senior Developer without knowledge of basic programming concepts. Wants every task in the shortest amount of time. Won't shift to branching system, instead, everyone will push code on master and hope no conflicts arise. Will sleep the entire first half of the day and wake up at closing time giving you an important task with the reason saying he wants to show it to the client. everything is urgent according to him, even on weekends. Product requirement changes so often that you shouldn't be surprised if something you developed today is scrapped and completely rebuilt tomorrow. This was fine if this was a rare occurrence, the only problem it happens so often you need to get used to it. Even on weekends. Won't use any task tracking software and get angry if you don't complete all tasks allotted. There is a reason that more than 25 employees have left the firm (including the CTO) because of their attitude. And it is more surprising for a company whose strength was always less than 30. Some people have left in less than 2 weeks, that's how worse the situation is. If you join as an intern they will put you on the project on day 1, expect no explanation or tours, and will start populating you with endless tasks. Won't provide you with any equipment (especially if you're permanently remote from a different city like in my case). Everyone currently working is tired of their toxic attitude, will never appreciate employees and always criticize. Working hours is a joke, expect to get calls at midnight too. Will keep changing product requirements so often that you will get tired of implementation with the same expectation of finishing it by day end. None of the senior employees has stayed back, the oldest employees are probably still in their internship period since employees are no more than a commodity for them whom they can just run through. The manager only has theoretical knowledge and speaking skills and convincing power. The project is a dead-end, with no scope for saturation. Money is the only thing that matters to the manager. Told me that he will cut 1% of my salary for every bug he finds. Extremely shallow BITS graduate. Manager himself is CTO, COO, HR and everything. Salary credited 3 weeks after month start and won't even provide slips as they want to save taxes by hiring as a consultant. Will force you to use illegal apps like Hubstaff which continuously monitors your activities, a major breach of privacy. The company doesn't even have an official notice period, but I was forced to serve one. When the pandemic began, they started cutting 20% salary from every employee but at the same time also had money to hire multiple interns. Such hypocrisy. When I asked back for my original salary 9 months later, they suggested me to resign. Would not provide any laptop/equipment you need. Even if they are ready to pay you a handsome salary which in most cases won't be more than 30k/month, you shouldn't join this firm as they only get income from 1 product and the rest all are doomed to fail. No job security. Earlier starting time was set to 11 am but the great manager has preponed it to 9 am while also increasing end time to minimum 8 pm and also 9 pm for some employees. Holidays are based on religion and you have to inform more than a week in advance in case of leaves otherwise they will cut from salary. They will give you so much work (especially after you resign) that you won't even get time to provide handovers to other employees. More than 7 project managers have left the firm in the last 6 months. That's how bad the management is. No concepts of promotion/bonus also exist in this firm. Will only offer raise after you resign. The sad part is even after working for them for over 3 years, they still ate a part of my salary. Some people have joined and left this firm in less than a week (honestly a great decision) As they say, most startups fail within three years of their existence, so join at your own risk, better not. Also don't expect salary for the last month of you working there, pretty low ethics are followed. If you join new they will ask you to work on weekends too for first few weeks. The biggest red flag is that will never end and you will ruin your mental health Recently they were served a legal notice too for their illegal activities. CEO just smokes all-day Will cut 4 days salary if you take off on Monday/ Friday The only positive note is if you're inexperienced and want to learn development you can join this firm as they will provide you with so many tasks that you will have no choice other than learning and submitting. After that, you may leave. and you should.
