I have been working at BlueCat full-time for more than a year

    Pros

BlueCat gives you the opportunity to learn a lot new technologies. The community here at BlueCat is amazing, you get to meet so many interesting people. Knowing that you are solving real problems for BlueCat customers. Take a look on BlueCat website to see the brand names we get to work with everyday.

    Cons

The only con I can think of is the turn over rate of employees. The reason for the high turn over rate is because the skills people are learning here at BlueCat are highly sought after skills. So the con is for the employees who see their friends leaving.

I have been working at BlueCat full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I find this company to be one of the best run in my career, and unlike the thousands of startups that burn through VC cash and unload a truckload of worthless options at new candidates' feet, this company actually: - sells a 'must have' technology at the heart of virtually every strategic IT trend right now: cloud, IoT, Software defined networking... - is entering the smoking hot cybersecurity market with a differentiated and valuable application - Has impressive revenue growth for a company approaching the heralded $100M revenue milestone - Makes money. Yeah, that's right, it's a tech company that actually runs a profit. First in my career. - has a management team with deep experience, that stays close to the business, that works towards practical outcomes - is 'real' - meaning, employees show up every day, roll up their sleeves, and focus on change that impacts customer success. They also celebrate real accomplishments and acknowledge real failure. They don't show up because of some murky promise to 'change the world,' or 'be the next Google' or because there is some 'move fast and break sh*t' cliche poster hanging over their heads. BlueCat is a great company, in a great market position. If you want to take on big challenges, with big payoffs, you should check it out. If you want to stroll into yet another super chic vibe Series B startup intent on burning through $30M to build the latest AI/machine learning/ [insert trend here] gadget, this prob isn't for you.

    Cons

Challenges abound, as they do at any tech company. These include: - There's a log of legacy code/practices/habits lying around this company. You will need to build/re-build business processes that will help it scale - Communication can certainly be streamlined, with better defined ownership. Sometimes overcoming internal and external obstacles to customer success is a challenge. - We need more 'big ideas.' injecting more innovative/creative thinking into product development. - Company can certainly adopt more progressive applications, services and operational practices. - Company needs to continue to attract talented people that fit into this culture: focused on the customer, with the courage to ask tough questions, that instinctively know how to do the right thing. - Need to maintain a commitment to transparency, curiosity and sense of urgency as the business grows. For the right kind of candidate, these challenges are a goldmine. There's so much to be done, and so many ways to jump in, have an impact and leave a lasting legacy.

I worked at BlueCat full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It was a dynamic place to work that was striving to grow into something bigger.

    Cons

There was a desire to run "lean" and so there was plenty of things do easily leading to burn out if not managed well.

I have been working at BlueCat full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very focused, very engaging, very dynamic, expanding and growing. Provides the tools and training to be successful with a supportive, predominantly flat management structure that enables the various teams. Teams tend to work well together. Board and CEO actively engaged in the business positive manner. Great for those who like to actively participate and engage to become successful.

    Cons

Necessary changes as the company adjusts to structures and processes that need to change with organizational growth.

    Pros

Leadership team is tremendous and looks to collaborate with everyone from the top down. Great strategic vision for the future as the company evolves.

    Cons

Requires a lot of grit and determination for the long haul. This isn't a bad thing, but most people want that instant large company feel.
