I worked at Bluegrass Cellular full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Benefits and vacation plan . Nice offices. Opportunities for advancement in the company. Closed for the Holidays. Closed On Sunday at most locations.

    Cons

Always changing procedures from one week to the next. Changing plans/promos keeps customers/employees confused.

    Advice to Management

Stop beating associates over the head with performance coaching on every little wrong thing they do!!!!

    Pros

Cheap Insurance but you get what you pay for.

    Cons

Horrible upper management. Horrible pay structure. No room for advancement unless you're part of the "in" crowd.

    Advice to Management

A smile goes a long way.

I have been working at Bluegrass Cellular full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing benefits. Commission structure allows you to have some control of your pay if you work hard to meet goals. Decent chance to move up in the company if you work hard but good relationships are a must. Best cell service available in the area and monthly analysis of competitors pricing to offer at least slightly better pricing. Really encourages employees to be a part of the community and give back to the customers.

    Cons

They do not offer competitive pay. Similar companies pay significantly more. Sick time can not be used for your children.

    Advice to Management

Pay the employees more accordingly to keep the seasoned associates that have built relationships with your customers and helped grow the business. Show more appreciation to your employees and remember that just because someone doesn't meet their numbers one in a while doesn't make them a bad employee.

I have been working at Bluegrass Cellular full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

the telecom industry has every bleeding edge technology that one could imagine for a good skillset. BCI will support you in anything that you want to learn and pursue in their Engineering department. The benefits package is the best in Kentucky.

    Cons

the company culture is a little behind, compensation is cripplingly low. The pay is on par with Walmart.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge the contributions of your employees in a progressive manner, and add more monetary, or comparable incentives.

I worked at Bluegrass Cellular full-time

    Pros

Company benefits are outstanding. Both insurance and 401k are best in class. Great opportunity for a young new to the industry/workforce individual to safely learn and grow.

    Cons

Company culture is very antiquated and lacks the foundation to provide real growth opportunities. This lends to a false sense of loyalty that is rewarding to those whom don't challenge the status quo. The company has a ton of potential and has seen many great people come and go due to the lack of leadership and development.

    Advice to Management

Embrace change. Reward those whom provide a path for growth. Challenge yourselves to make everyday great and look at more than just tenure when evaluating an employees contributions.

I have been working at Bluegrass Cellular full-time

    Pros

    - Great vision - Bluegrass has a focus on community and "treating customers like good friends". This is communicated and shown in many ways to the local community and to employees
    - Brilliant job opportunities for hard working, loyal, skilled people
    - Benefits - BEST benefits package I have ever had. The insurance is great and VERY LOW COST to employee. By far the best 401k! Nice PTO/day off offering
    - Help your neighbor - many ways to help the community at Bluegrass including internal campaigns for no texting while driving, and company drives to contribute to local charities (but not too many!)
    - Fun - we do fun, team building stuff with our teams.
    - Locally owned and operated - we focus on offering the best wireless service where we live, work, and play
    - BEST wireless network - partnering with Verizon and others for nationwide and international coverage
    - BEST local tech company to work for. Local focus with USA-wide, global wide services.
    - Big expectations, big rewards
    - Best Places to Work in Kentucky 2 years in a row!

I love this place - best place I have ever worked. The people are great, and work as a solid team. High tech with a local focus! I recommend Bluegrass highly.

    Cons

It can be crazy busy, but in a good way. You need to like CHANGE and a fast pace to work in most positions here.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Please continue to provide great benefits (especially the insurance). Please continue the fantastic local focus.

    Cons
