    Pros

The company encourages training, and there is training going on constantly. I received my LEED accreditation and am working toward more accreditation. the company paid 100%. My co-workers are knowledgable and helpful.

    Cons

    Sometimes expectations can be high

    Advice to Management

I worked at Boland full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The salary and package is great. They have a lot of office employees to help with all of your paperwork.

    Cons

Communication from managers to field technicians. The company likes to gossip like high school.

    Advice to Management

They need to communicate with the techs more thoroughly. They need to stop hiring managers.

    Pros

Great compensation. Willing to help but expect you to learn everything by yourself. Too many policies and procedures.

    Cons

    Some co-workers make life miserable.

I worked at Boland full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, they are a large company so they have a lot of buying power.

    Cons

Management is sketchy at best. There is not opportunity for growth unless you are buddies with the manager in that department. Not a great working environment and now they have high turnover due to horrible management. In 12 years of working there I received and total of 3 reviews.

    Advice to Management

Need to create a path for growth for employees.

I worked at Boland full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good people, decent training opportunities

    Cons

HUGE disconnect between executive leadership and the entire rest of the organization resulting in employees having little to no channel for providing input, voicing concerns, etc. other than to their direct manager (which has lead to conflict in interest on several occaisions...)

    Advice to Management

Get around the office and talk to your employees more often, know peoples names (and how to pronounce them), and bring back the small, family-owned feel that was once present...

I worked at Boland full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work atmosphere in a brand new building with all the amenities. Coworkers and management willing to provide support for the most part. Constant free training available onsite.

    Cons

Very flat organization with limited opportunities to get promoted. As with any other company in the construction field the job site hours are 6am-2pm, and office work would prolong to 5pm. Therefore, 10 to 12 hour workdays were frequent, but PM's do not get overtime. Salary was not competitive.

    Pros

Great people here. They are willing to help and share their knowledge. The company shows concern for their employees by listening and making changes, but it can be a slow process. Overall, the company treat you well.

    Cons

The company seem to be hiring most of the time, but this mostly won't be a position for you to move up to. It's very hard to climb the ladder due to the lack of need. You need to know the right people to help get what you want and you might have to fight for it. Office politics.
