I have been working at Bonobos part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is a very transparent company that is non-commissioned. This promotes a less competitive environment to work in and allows more collaboration as a whole sales unit. The store floor is always changing and the work is never monotonous. It is a very dynamic job for the retail works. I would highly recommend working at Bonobos. It is by far the best employer I have worked for.

    Cons

Very hard to sell the product and familiarize the customers with the different-than-normal model. The product has a high price point as well.

    I worked at Bonobos full-time

    Pros

Great discount, great clothes, fast paced environment

    Cons

While 'revolutionary' for customers, as a showroom employee they really operated and treated employees like any other retail operation would. Corporate would rarely take heed to employees on the ground.

Changes would often occur but without our feedback. Essential store/infrastructure improvements were often neglected.

    Pros

I had a good time working there. Lots of young, talented employees who are eager to get a job done.

    Cons

Management turn over and lack of trust from C Levels

    Advice to Management

    Trust your employees

I worked at Bonobos (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay was competitive. Some good people

    Cons

This company was bought for over 300 million and they still use google sheets for out reaching to customers. Until you give your people actual tools to make business happen you can expect the same outcome. Upper management is almost as bad as mean girl sequel. They missed being cool in high school so now they have their shot. Fail!

    Awful leadership
    Zero support
    Crooked HR
Don’t care about your career path!

    Advice to Management

Start giving jobs to people based on merit and ability.

    Cons

No cons as such but building good relations with your seniors and other teams is important and crucial to grow.

I have been working at Bonobos part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really invests in their employees and takes the time to find good people. The most positive retail experience I've ever had. I could never go back to regular retail.

    Cons

    I really don't have any!

    Pros

Novel opportunities to grow if you're scrappy

    Cons

Cons of any smaller org - if you're not used to evolving systems and processes, prob not for you.

    I worked at Bonobos full-time

    Pros

Bonobos has found the secret sauce to stellar work culture; furthermore attracted incredible people by placing culture at the helm of its hiring process. Expect to be surrounded by motivated, hungry, inspiring people that believe in changing mens apparel and online retail. Moving on from Bonobos has made me reflect on the what most companies fail to do; make a job feel less like a job, and instead a place where you truly feel you can be yourself.

    Cons

Tough to find growth in IT. Proper leveling, roles, and upward mobility was not in place at the time. I suspect this is because the IT team was historically one person, and leadership wasn't fully prepared for net new roles over time.

    Pros

The product is amazing, the fit is superb and the customer interactions will make you want to walk through the doors every shift.

    Cons

The public image Walmart has on the general public is something you'll have to rebuttle with talking to casual customers.

I worked at Bonobos full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great team. Awesome product. Company very up to date on standards and processes

    Cons

Very slow for a full time job. Not being challenged enough. Would only see maybe 2 customers between 11am-5pm on weekdays (even in the city on a major shopping neighborhood) . Which really isn’t the companies “fault” but it makes sense as it is men’s retailer - most men would be at thier work place from this time frame!
