I worked at BrightCurrent full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Generous compensation for fairly simple tasks on paper - generate clean energy based leads and sales. Some paid sick leave, laughable vacation time that basically required you to work full time for a year before accruing half a day's work of hours every month.

    Cons

No planning - walked into markets with products that could not be sold to interested consumers. For real - they didn't have partners for the geography we were in. Would get dozens of customers selling themselves that couldn't even buy it from us. Sometimes, even a legal concern selling products like electric bikes. Wtf?

I have been working at BrightCurrent full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It's rare to find a sales/marketing firm this flexible. Employees are treated well, and management does everything they can to help the troops in the field succeed. I felt like my potential was recognized almost immediately and as soon as I was willing to switch from my initial part time to full time we started talking promotion. I've never been so impressed by the mission of a company, and the culture is positive almost to a fault. The company is beginning to diversify their products which insulates them from the uncertainty facing the future of home solar from a political standpoint.

    Cons

Pay is less than one would expect for a sales firm, and while there is excellent opportunity for growth, an individual would need extremely marketable sales skills or have a highly talented and motivated team to make a 6 figure salary. This firm is better treated as a place to grow and develop highly marketable skills than as one to stay indefinitely and make a ton of money from.
