I worked at Bryan Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

great co-workers on my shift, benefits were great using their facilities

    Cons

too many managers of which there was a disconnect with employees, lots of passive aggressive managers which is frustrating, pay was a joke compared to similar sized hospitals in the area

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees better, quit the passive aggressive stuff it's not doing you any favors, director needed to interact with the small fish more often, look into restructure of management way too many for the department causing issues and rumors

    Pros

Great people to work with and always willing to help when help is needed. They also understand family situations and accommodate accordingly.

    Cons

Downsides would include oncall shifts, constant changes in schedules, and sometimes the 12 hour shifts are 6 days in a row before you get a day off.

    Advice to Management

    n/a

I have been working at Bryan Health (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Okay place to work with some good co-workers.

    Cons

I have seen favoritism when searching for positions that would advance my career. Upper management does not understand what other employees do day-to-day. Some management professionals do not follow up with requests or inquiries from employees.

I worked at Bryan Health (Less than a year)

    Pros

The wages were great, the job was interesting. The best part of the job was greeting the customers and feeling like an important part of the ER.

    Cons

Fellow employees weren't supportive, the training was inadequate since you had to switch back and forth from one department to another. Cheat sheets or an FAQ would have been an excellent idea for busy, busy times!

    Advice to Management

Cheat sheets or FAQ's for codes and procedures/what ifs would be a major improvement. Encouraging an engaging, team oriented atmosphere would be excellent

I have been working at Bryan Health (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent leadership development. Caring and approachable senior leaders. Great compensation for staff rn's working overtime as desired.

    Cons

Staff desire full on-site fitness facility. There is a small area with equipment staff are able to use freely 24/7.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop leadership all the way to the bedside nurse as well as other roles that support them.

I worked at Bryan Health part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A good place to gain some experience. They pay nurses fairly well.

    Cons

Since there is now really only 2 hospitals left in Lincoln NE now ( Bryan or St. E's) that doesn't leave Lincolnites too many options. Recently Bryan/LGH became Bryan Health Systems. Since then they have become even more bottom line oriented. Their business practices leave much to be desired. No unions, and Nebraska is Work at Will state. Bryan employees are at the mercy of the management.
