I have been working at CDCNews full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great work environment. Good Management.

    Cons

No parity in compensation plans. Some sales reps are compensated on a better plan than others... and the newcomers have no way of earning their way onto the commission only plan.

    Advice to Management

    Create parity in compensation.

I have been working at CDCNews full-time

    Pros

The only pro would be the insurance plan but, most companies have good group plans

    Cons

-Hostile work environment. No topic is off limits to discuss while in the office here. Politics, sex, religion, etc. is all debated openly and in front of management with no repercussions.
-You have PTO but, you are made to feel bad about using it
-If you are a consultative salesperson...run because this isn't for you. Aggressive, badgering, stretching the truth, over promise and under deliver is the name of the game for this office.
    - No product training really. Everything is learned on the fly and by word of mouth from your co-workers.
    - The product you are selling is basically a luxury item for most of the prospects
-The pay is NOT competitive and is really sub par versus the amount of BS you deal with to close one sale.
-Last thing, you are selling to people in the construction industry so BEWARE.

    Advice to Management

If you really want to do some good in this office then put leadership in place that will mirror your vision for the company. If you don't care if this office stays up and running...do nothing.

I worked at CDCNews full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My co-workers were great and we all worked hard to create a positive team atmosphere.

    Cons

Upper management was unprofessional, often insulting employees they were over. The company is run in a very dated way and it creates a very negative power dynamic in the work place. The pay is terrible and time time/time off is a joke. There was no room to move up in the company unless someone died...I'm not even kidding.

    Advice to Management

Take classes on how to properly manage people and communicate in respectful ways.

    Pros

Its a job so that is something to be happy about

    Cons

I noticed that the only people who get raises are people who look like management.

    Advice to Management

Hey I have some advice for you, Quit.

I have been working at CDCNews (More than a year)

    Pros

I have been here over a year in the Cary office and it has been a great work environment and I have made a decent amount of money. The management is good enough and the fellow employees are easy to work with. The product is good and our leads are more than adequate.

    Cons

Ever changing quotas and sales rules, but with the companies finally merging into one, that should change.

    Advice to Management

Do whatever it takes to get deals in. A new customer at a lower rate, is better than one going to the competition..

Worked for the company for over 10 years & loved what I did. I had wonderful co-workers and in-office management that truly cared about the employees.

    Cons

Corporate doesn't care about their employees. Low office morale because of corporate management. The pay was horrible.

    Advice to Management

Take a little time to listen to your employees. Do a few things to help boost office morale.

I worked at CDCNews full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for extra incentive pay, great people, interact & build relationships with government entities, good schedule

    Cons

Remembering constantly changing rules and territories and/or adjustments to new quota requirements can be tough, a lot of work to be done, not many opportunities for advancement, unfortunately been a lot of lay offs.

I worked at CDCNews full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Earning potential may be there for some of the Reps- So it can be done. however, poor leads and favorites getting the better leads makes it difficult to reach the $$

    Cons

HORRIBLE higher management - just want more and more production with no regard to the individuals. If you don't make - the recruiters will find new people.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so greedy and try to correct your incompetent ways. Care about your employees and they might want to stay- unbelievable way to manage people absolutely horrible!!!!!
