I worked at CHEP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

CHEP is highly innovative and as result, it's workforce typically is more technically advanced and savvy. Great leadership that is always looking for ways to retain it's workforce and great work-life balance.

    Cons

You either make it or you don't ( which is not bad thing)

I worked at CHEP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting business model with international operations. Flexible hours, good benefits, and relaxed environment (for most departments).

    Cons

A change in Senior Management has shifted to be less about the employees experiences and lacks best practices for all employees which limits the opportunity for advancement across the board. A Silo environment created and exist.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and transparent while creating opportunities for advancement within the company.

I worked at CHEP (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly people, good pay, big player

    Cons

If you are content with skating by, CHEP is perfect. You can work 25-30 hours per week and be promoted and revered, no problem...this phenomenon is cross functional. An 8am arrival at the office will leave you considered as an early riser. If you have integrity and value meaningful contributions, might want to look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

    Hire and promote externally.

I worked at CHEP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing benefits, fair pay, and challenging work -- if you're in logistics -- you work through so many obstacles every day, and it's hard, but fulfilling and genuinely exciting if you love supply chain logistics. Good if you're more of a linear thinker. Not great for abstract/creative personality types.

    Cons

Logistics requires a two year commitment off the bat, which is hard to commit first entering into a company. Even if you've been there a year and find something more aligned with your goals, you will be held back. There are some problem personalities in management, and they will try to undermine your experience and qualifications at any opportunity and will do so until you break. No amount of one-on-one meetings or employee relations cases will resolve if they want to weed you out. Will frequently remind you of your place if you try to think too far outside the box. If you have a more abstract, entrepreneurial personality, look elsewhere. CHEP wants compliance, not creativity which is tough when you manage exceptions that require creative solutions every day.

    Advice to Management

Everyone matters - whether you're a senior manager, a coordinator, or a repairman at a service center. Mid/upper management needs basic training on plain respect. (VP excluded, he's cool).

I worked at CHEP full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great Benefits, Decent Vacation accrual, good 401K

    Cons

6 Days a week as a manager, 55-70 hours required for a salaried position. Plant manager puts all responsibility on you. Expect your salary to be low end. They will promise lots, but won't follow through once they have you entrenched.

    Advice to Management

This is an international own company, traded on the Australian Exchange, and the bottom line, not their employees, not Quality, and to their customers is the biggest concern.
