    Pros

They give you the classes and tools necessary to advance your knowledge of the trade. They are a very organized company

    Cons

They pay a decent wage but you will never advance thru the ranks to the upper positions or make you can independently.

    Advice to Management

Respect and reward the guys actually doing the work.

    I worked at CTSI full-time

    Pros

Truly a freight payment only company. They do have some technology functions but core is freight audit and payment.
Good place to learn the freight industry from the numbers perspective and how pricing works.
Storied history so they have a decent customer base
Getting to work with a lot of technology driven minds was the major pro

    Cons

Minimal growth opportunity as some of the management has been there a very long time
Politics can be overwhelming at times and interfere with good products
Benefits were awful and healthcare costs astronomical. Do not work here if you have a single income and family otherwise 75% of your pay goes to insurance.

    Advice to Management

Need to work on better benefits packages for employees and provide different work environment. The job culture is changing and they have not kept to tune with today's work force.

I worked at CTSI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Have all the tools in place to provide a superior service for clients. They also have a solid offering to provide long term freight payment solutions.

    Cons

Upper management who have been in place for over a decade are simply yes men who are too dependent on their jobs to provide honest input to solve problems for long term growth.
Owner purposely tanks processes for short term monetary gain. Clients with skilled analysts can find success but there always remains the possibility for errors due to band- aid fixes.
Late payments to carriers creates discord between clients and their analysts.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of upper management yes men, institute fiduciary controls and honest treatment of clients.

    Pros

Small company, locally owned, voted by Memphis Business Journal as one of the best small companies in Memphis, TN

    Cons

Employees judged by how much time withthe company, not what they do for the company. Raises meager and late from review date. Owner stated he enjoys drama within the ranks because it keeps anyone from reaching too high. Employees must be work (not necessarily doing anything) for 9-10 hrs a day or will be let go. Each department a fortified warzone.

    Advice to Management

Stop the drama and communicate without being aggressive or defensive. Realize that every department is equally important in getting the product to the customer.
