Looking forward to our new leadership and our go-to-market strategy.

I have been working at Castlight full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people are great and pay is terrific. As for the day to day of working at castlight, you never know what you're going to get. The work is rewarding and thrilling to those eager to learn in the tech space. The company has strong leadership throughout the organization. Maeve our CEO has revitalized the Customer Success team while placing strong resourcing into the professional services team, making strong hires at the director levels will pay dividends for Castlight's future. There are dozens of incredibly talented individuals at the company and everyone is very willing to collaborate and learn from one another. Castlight has a terrific culture and despite recent unfortunate lay offs the attitude has mainly been positive and inspiring.

    Cons

If you prefer to work strictly 40 hours a week and are not willing to put in extra time then I would consider this aspect of working here. It is a startup and constantly evolving and adapting so you must work extra hard to perform well. This can be great for those wanting a challenge but can overwhelm those are might not enjoy the requirement to be flexible. Working at Castlight around the month of December is also very busy if this time is important to you. Prepare to babysit other departments if you want things done right and quickly. Churn throughout the organization has hurt some of the internal processes.

I worked at Castlight full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nice people, great location, excellent benefits

    Cons

Lack of talent, career growth, mediocre platform. Churn of large customers. C-level and SLT are way over their heads. Never recovered from Jiff merger and putting incompetent, unqualified people in key leadership roles.

I have been working at Castlight full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Good benefits, some good people

    Cons

Poor upper management, some questionable practices, huge and unfair pay inequities, questionable SLT and CEO. I was impressed when I first started but am now very disappointed. Noticeable and precipitous decline since COVID layoffs. But the weaknesses were always there in retrospect. Now everything feels remarkably tenuous.

    I worked at Castlight full-time

    Pros

A very talented group of people, highly skilled and impressive (not including exec. management). Great work from home culture!

    Cons

Executive leadership does a poor job leading, inspiring, and managing. Castlight is all about bandaid fixes from the things that are operationally broken to the product itself.

I worked at Castlight full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Unlimited PTO that no one actually takes

    Cons

Weak leadership that do not know what they are doing. Layoffs were handled horribly and morale has dropped significantly. Castlight is hanging by a thread and has no clear plans for avoiding bankruptcy.

I worked at Castlight full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great location near public transportation, nice building. Used to be some great people there, not sure who's left now. Good company vision and mission. A lot of people there really care about improving healthcare--they very much believe in the mission.

    Cons

The company really started declining when it purchased Jiff Software and messed up the integration terribly with weak leadership trying to be too nice and be everyone's friend as opposed to building the strongest company. Current leadership is terrible. Vast favoritism. Absolute lack of courtesy for others. No respect for employees as human beings. CEO can not manage people and treats them very poorly. She surrounds herself with "yes" people and won't even engage with others, nor treat them with any sort of common courtesy.
