Pros

Wonderful mission with proven results. It’s rewarding work, and all of the people I’ve worked with have been kind and care about the work they do.

Cons

Part-Time and seasonal, and it’s difficult to have any job growth. As the company has grown, things have gotten a bit over complicated and over HR’d. For example, they've changed things so that trainings and meetings are paid at a lower rate than the regular hourly wage, and that just feels icky.

The job -teaching kids how to read and watching them grow by leaps and bounds- is one of the most meaningful I've ever had.

The structure vastly overcomplicates everything.

Supportive staff, useful and clear training modules, effective literacy intervention for many students that focuses on 1:1 in person interaction.

Cons

Part-time, yearly changes to curriculum that makes you feel like you're often piloting something new, some teachers are very supportive of the program and others are less so
