    Pros

The culture is what makes me want to come to work everyday. I love the people I work with and I have fun coming in to work, On top of the culture, Clinton as a firm is very opportunistic, which keeps the work always interesting. I would highly recommend working at Clinton to anyone. George and the rest of the senior employees do a great job of giving you the freedom to learn, but stepping in when guidance is needed. As a younger employee, it is exactly what I needed to help accelerate my career.

    Cons

Don't have anything bad to say... I love it here.

I worked at Clinton Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They would make many promises they can't keep when they want to hire you

    Cons

    - No respect to your research ideas/results. The time they get the details, the time your value is gone as a researcher. They will let you go at any time and won't let you know until the last minute.
    - No bonus when they are losing money (and they are now). Cross your finger to get something when they are making money, but when they are not, they only keep the people they know for years.

    Advice to Management

The only reason your company survives is because few comments can be found online from insiders and the marketing people post fake reviews so that what you do to your employees is not exposed

I worked at Clinton Group (More than a year)

    Pros

    The benefits package is good.

    Cons

This company is run by an egomaniac with very little investment knowledge. They are losing money and the culture is the worst I have ever experienced. They are now looking to hire quant analysts so they can steal your ideas and keep the IP, and they keep bonus "discretionary" so they dont have to pay you for it. If you are looking for someone to steal your stuff and never get paid, this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

There is no advise that will help here because all management is only there because of long time family ties to the owner, and they could never work anywhere else so they wont change. The entire structure is set up for the owner to be surrounded by incompetent yes men and women.

    Pros

    Cons

Fiefdom. Few outside LPs will give the firm any money to manage

    Advice to Management

    Pay your interns

    Pros

Easy to get. They offer $10 an hour to everyone and they hire everyone. You make your own hours as long as you can do 30 a week.

    Cons

High employee turn over rate because the job is grueling. You have to take constant inbound calls for hours.

    Advice to Management

Teach people how to use your system first. Don't just assume they know what you know. Dont make people work 30 hours a week minimum and you will have a much lower quitting rate.

    Pros

That you get to see how the hedge fund industry works at its worst.

    Cons

This fund is not stable, has extreme employee turnover, has trouble raising money, is declining in assets, prestige and talent, and is led by someone who is arrogant, not a great investor, and doesn't communicate anything within his fiefdom. Morale is terrible, it is completely obvious, and there is nothing done to address this. I don't know anyone who worked/works there that enjoys their job, and it is not clear to me why people stay except that they don't feel they have the choice.

    Advice to Management

The compensation structure of dividing bonuses into two periods is completely off-market and the atmosphere is toxic.
