I love the way we as a community work together to achieve individual goals, team goals, and business wide goals.
Cons
The challenge here is being able to quickly change as the domain/space Clover is in is rapidly changing and as an organization we have to be very nimble.

Pros
Everyone within Clover seems nice, I had great coworkers, lots of confidence in the Design team, Hackathons, some free lunches
Cons
Parent company tamping down on the startup culture (e.g. responsibly used beer fridge, kitchen full of healthy snacks and beverages)

Pros
Your experience at Clover is highly manager dependent. Some managers are highly supportive and stick by their folks, and some aren't. Some teams have high engineering standards, and others don't. The teams that do have a good working culture and engineering rigor tend to maintain their teams and deliver high-quality work. Work-life balance is pretty great.
Cons
Compensation isn't competitive for the good engineers. Senior management refuses to address this problem, and they get what they pay for. Fiserv does not understand Clover and their purchase of Clover has been a net negative. Clover does it best to maintain an independent culture, but whenever Fiserv gets involved, things go south quickly. Engineering quality at Clover is pretty high; engineering quality at Fiserv is embarrassingly bad.

Used to be a tech company, now it's just ... meh.
Aug 26, 2022 - Software Engineer in Sunnyvale, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Passionate engineers - Free lunch - unlimited PTO - Neat good quality hardware. - Stock is doing well - Pretends they care about employees. - Decently diverse.
Cons
- Pay is trash. - CEO doesn't believe in remote work and has no idea what engineers are doing, just a mouthpiece for Frank. - Did I mention no remote work? Unless you want to be seen as lazy of course. - Spineless middle management. They'll die before they fight for a raise or a promotion for their underlings. - Good engineers quitting in droves. Those that stay either can't leave or suck and can't find better jobs. - No direction from upper management, or maybe they don't care who knows. - HR constantly lies to you. Just one of those big companies that spew Business Words in all their internal e-mails all the way up until you get fired. - No growth opportunities, but they'll pretend like there is and you can do all the work and grow into senior and staff level positions since everyone quit. No salary bump of course. - Trash tech infrastructure. Their solution is to outsource so they can pay people less, but you get what you pay for. - You get pinged all the time for something breaking, because there's nobody left to fix stuff.
