A company who really cares in a market which is incredibly challenging.
May 26, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The CEO and balance of the leadership team truly cares about the employees and their success. I have never worked for a company that cares more and does more to support the teams well being. Great customer base which has been built up over time.
Cons
A value prop focused on hiring engineers for technology companies could not be more challenging in today’s environment. A history of selling to any company who would buy means many of those were not right for the company which is being felt now to the detriment of the current team. This has impacted performance and ultimately led to hard decisions around the teams which has been incredibly hard for those who have left along with those who remain. Instruction of ChatGPT has created additional risk to the value proposition and confusion in market, which is an additional pressure on the company.

Poor reviews are false news here.
Apr 13, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Natalia is a real human. She interacts with all levels at the organization and has a deep sense for what is happening with all teams. I've never met a CEO who had such a deep level knowledge of what is happening in the organization. They have faced some tuff economic times-LIKE EVERY SINGLE TECH ORG OUT THERE. It's hard to see the poor reviews regarding people saying they are blaming things on that-Have they not seen the news? Recognition to EVERY team-WOW! I've never seen so much recognition that was so genuine and put in so many places so the entire company knew each achievement. Career mapping-They have a promotional track that employees actually use to guide themselves based on achievements, knowledge, reviews from co-workers, education. You don't have to wait for that "annual review" most orgs have, you are in charge of your own career path. Management listened, they actually listen to idea and concerns and address them head on. They don't sugar coat, they tell the harsh reality of the situation so that everyone knows what is happening and why. They do this through 1:1's, team meetings and an all hands meeting. Their core values hold true-Being human, taking ownership, being real and thinking big.
Cons
Codility isn't perfect, but they own up to their decisions and nothing is just swept under the rug. Layoffs are tuff and every tech org around the globe has had them over the past year. It is a con but it's a reality all tech is facing. The delivery of their layoffs to employees is empathetic and human and they provide employees with real support through their transition to other orgs.

Pros
The benefits, pay, people, product, and customers definitely stand out for me. When I compare my experience with working in other technology companies, Codility is a company that cares for its people and works hard to keep its values, especially its human value. The past few years have been hard on everyone and the past year or so has been even harder for the entire tech sector and its labour force. Codility recently underwent layoffs like most of the tech industry and it's clear to me that they did what they could for the people who were laid off. While of course layoffs aren't what any company wants, I believe Codility did what was necessary while upholding the company values. I've worked for other companies during shaky times and Codility does show up differently.
Cons
Codility is going through change as we get in line with the rest of tech to focus on efficiency vs. "growth at all costs." While this makes sense and is the right thing to do, it comes with painful tradeoffs. Change is inevitable, but it's been a lot of it. I think we are now more focused than ever, but not everyone here is comfortable with change or is watching what is going on in the tech market. We have many people who are experiencing a downturn for the first time and that can be frustrating at times when you can see negative energy being spent on things that are inevitable.

Pros
Codility offers a beautiful fusion of Europe and the Americas. People here are generally creative and care about doing good in the world. I have never enjoyed my co-workers as much as I have here. That has shifted recently and I’m concerned.
Cons
Up until series A, we were getting beat by competitors quite frequently. It was a humbling time. Then came the funding. With the extra budget, the go-to-market team got an infusion of talent. The result was incredible. We grew revenue more during this time than all years prior. The company was buzzing. I expected the team to get recognition for their efforts. Instead, they seemed to be ignored and success got attributed to market conditions. Every single department head, middle manager, and even most ICs from this time are no longer here. It happened sooooo fast. I think it's important for our board to reflect on this. Was everyone wrong or is something wrong with a few people at the top that are too proud to admit their folly? Codility has gone from "no BS" to toxic positivity and feigned enthusiasm for every horrendously botched idea the CPO rolls out. Meanwhile, the CFO took over operations, sales, and marketing with no idea how they work. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop him from making demotivating and disruptive decisions that ground business down to levels not seen in years. So where has this gotten us? We had an incredible opportunity but now we're struggling. We had layoffs a few weeks ago. Two members of the executive team moved on in the last month. I'm worried about my job security. They'll probably attribute our failures to market conditions as well.

Refreshing Culture, Exciting Times
Aug 10, 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
At Codility, I look around and see creativity, ingenuity, teamwork, encouragement, and kindness. I feel seen and appreciated in ways that inspire me and reinforce my dedication to this company's success. Colleagues lead with empathy, understanding, and an underlying drive to be helpful. The ability to collaborate with amazing colleagues across functions and geographic regions has deeply enriched my experience and given me so much appreciation for our differences and our similarities. The company's values are very much a part of life at Codility -- they are reflected in our culture, our interactions with one another, our benefits package, the way our executives lead and communicate, and the way we conduct business. I'm proud of what we are creating and excited about what we will accomplish.
Cons
The company is growing and changing which can present challenges to scaling the culture. In addition, we haven't been immune to the macro-economic factors affecting the tech industry. Many processes and approaches that have been useful and effective in the past are in need of a revamp. This is underway, but it will take some time to truly adapt and get this right.

Pros
Codility has a big mission: to unlock the world's engineering potential. Succeeding in this mission will not only build a valuable business, it will also make a positive difference in the world. If you want to have a noticeable impact on how companies hire, develop, and manage high-leverage, technical talent, you should consider working here. I'm confident the folks here know that the business cares about them and that we're working towards a worthwhile mission. These are pros that are hard to quantify, but they're also special and hard to find anywhere else.
Cons
With a big mission comes complicated problems to solve, in a difficult economic and political environment, no less. We have the same problems that all companies our stage and size have. But we have the benefit of leaders with positive intent that genuinely care about people. And we know that over the arc of time those are the organizations that win.

Getting better and better
May 11, 2021 - Chief Psychologist in Atlanta, GARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Codility's a special company on the move. The company attracts and retains A-players who treat their work seriously and have a strong appreciation for one another. Although a remote, distributed team, employees feel connected and there are intentional efforts to make sure everyone feels heard and included. The business has gone through a lot of change recently thanks to the pandemic, moving to a remote-first business, and growing through increased revenue and funding. As the business is changing so too are the policies and culture, but it seems to be getting better and better. There is a strong culture of trust and appreciation for colleagues, which translates into high-quality work and a rewarding and inclusive work environment. I'm thrilled to see where Codility goes over the next several years and hope that I get to continue to play a role in it!
Cons
The biggest con right now is some uncertainty due to change and growth. Codility is hiring more folks from around the world. New hires are all high performers and seem to be welcomed into Codility's positive and strong culture. But, it's unclear how the things that make Codility great today might change over time.

- Excellent culture and shared values. - CEO is accessbile and transparent. - Big opportunities for growth.
Cons
- Normal start up stuff, ambiguity, and difficulty with collaboration between Poland and US. These are very normal though for a company in hyper growth stage.
