I was told I could arrive in a time to accommodate school drop offs, but they had frequent mandatory early starts in uniform to make an appearance to investors who were coming to the office. This wasn't always possible for me. That made me feel that the company cared more about appearances than about employee satisfaction. I had a 6 month probation period, which everyone got. This contract allowed them to fire people without explanation, which they did to me on the last day of my probation period. I was given a nonsensical explanation about why I was let go, having had no bad feedback previously. I wasn't happy at this job honestly, so it was probably for the best in the end, but I deserved an explanation and I feel I was mistreated. I also feel that I was set up to fail - I was given very little mentoring and onboarding. I also felt that I wasn't empowered to do my job and at one point, a person took credit for my work. I feel that they don't really care about their employees and tend to hire very subservient yes men (and a few yes women). They would automate them if they could.
