I worked at Cone Health part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Cone Health pays more for per diem nurses than other companies in the area, such as Novant Health. Nurse managers also strove to not give 6 patients daily.

    Cons

We were often understaffed with nurses taking 5-6 post-CABG patients, and the charge nurse was rarely able to help the other nurses.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest that management is present more frequently on the unit. This helps boost morale and lets management know what is taking place on the unit.

The pay is not equal to the work. Department is becoming a collection agency rather than pre-service specialist.
