Pros
Fellow employees are extremely supportive and helpful in teaching, night and weekend differential is good compared to other companies, schedule is pretty flexible, and just overall good work environment.
Cons
The benefits could be a bit better when it comes to health insurance and the pay could of course always be better but they have been giving bonuses to help with that.
Thank you so much for your review! We're glad to hear you have felt supported in your career with us. We are constantly evaluating how we can improve the benefits we offer so that we can continue to be right here w/you in well-being.

Executive VPs Take Care of Themselves
Mar 14, 2023 - Director in Greensboro, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Staff members are caring and professional
Cons
Toxic environment. Nobody trusts the C-Suite. Top Executives say they want transparency, but they will ruthlessly get rid of anyone who disagrees with them. To save money, they recently fired 20+ Executive Directors and Directors - with no plan for who/how departments would report. Most of those let go were over 50 with long tenure at Cone. They were outstanding and trusted leaders. Now the rest of us are looking over our shoulders. The COO is unfit to lead a system and the CEO has zero hospital operations experience. In fact, they hired a retired COO to mentor her. He is a bully so that’s what she’s learning. Maybe that’s why the system has lost $15 million this year.

Financial struggle and bad management and toxic culture
Mar 19, 2023 - Project Manager in Greensboro, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great location. Historic and well intentioned mission
Cons
Cronyism in management. THe CEO got rid of all prior management and put in 90% as new structure. Many of them are friends of CEO. Took a HR person who has no health care experience other than HR and put in as COO who had to be trained into COO role by the VPs. Meanwhile, they are bleeding $$$$. CEO has hired a friend Chief Clinical Officer and his linkedin profiles still has him in Alabama though he has been in this job for 2 years.!!! Talk about brand identification and culture. HE is downright rude and berates at everyone. Talk about core values!! Practices that they took over to manage which were profitable are all at loss.

Great Respiratory Therapy Department
Feb 27, 2023 - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Greensboro, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There is great teamwork among the employees in the Respiratory Therapy Department and also with other departments and disciplines. The new leadership in this department is welcomed and makes for a wonderful work environment.
Cons
There is a shortage of Respiratory Therapist, but that is true in all hospitals at the moment. The employees pull together to make sure that the shifts are covered and this company does compensate the therapist for extra shifts.
