A company to bet your career on
Dec 3, 2017 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Amazingly smart people. Company with a purpose. Inventing the future of containerized infrastructure. Highly virtuous culture and purpose.
Cons
High growth company and still lots of ongoing changes. Nothing a-typical for a company at this size in such a hot space, but not for the faint of heart.

Pros
"Valley" company. Lots of talent. Focused on solid contributions to the community.
Cons
Young space (if this is even a con?)

Inspiring Place to Work
Sep 5, 2017 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I am pretty inspired to work at CoreOS because I work among some of the smartest people that are continually pushing the envelope. And I get to see how our technology (both open source and enterprise products) are changing the way companies operate internally to get applications to market. What inspires me: -Team dynamics, the team always comes together on a common goal to deliver amazing work -People are continually pushing themselves to do their best work -Team events across all offices (SF, Berlin and NYC) to celebrate work well-done -Great culture of people focused on making CoreOS a wonderful place to work for all people
Cons
We're a fast growing company so we have growing pains like all fast growing companies. But nothing that sticks out to me as unusual.

Pros
Most of the reviews here are from people close to the founders, but there are a few true statements: Smart & Good people in most departments High energy Great space (containers!)
Cons
Current management is incredibly weak on business, culture and people management / interaction. Behavior at times is almost like an episode of a sitcom - people acting the way they think they should based on a character rather than acting with intelligence or maturity. Based on these shortcomings they have made some moves on the executive front, bringing in more sales leaders and replacing others, none of which seem to have any idea what they are doing in this space. I've also heard horror stories of individuals getting lectured or written up based on stuff taking place during after hours events etc. Leadership feels very petty and arbitrary.

Pros
Great technology, great people, room to grow and learn.
Cons
Like any rapidly growing startup, was sometimes confusing to figure out what you should even be working on at a given time.

Go To Market Strategy is failing

Office in downtown San Francisco.
