Pros
Great benefits, unlimited pto, competitive pay
Cons
Not a ton of downsides honestly. It's just like any company. There's always good and bad

Cornerstone OnDemand Response
Thanks for your 9 years of service as a Cornerstar! We've asked you to manage through a lot of change and we appreciate you being part of our transformation.

Pros
unlimited vacation (for now) , work from home, in summer they have tried to implement work life balance policies, and there’s a lot going on so you will have the opportunity to see a company transform (for the good or bad)
Cons
When I say try, they send out these temp policies to help work/life during the summer but no one has actually made an attempt to ensure it’s enforced. New leadership makes this a completely different company from a year ago and that’s by design. This place used to be a people organization. Unfortunately for us longer term folks, we know how it looked to be led by a caring organization because CSOD once showed us that. Now, we have an arrogant CEO and an organization that is determined to let you believe they are not in this for the long haul. I haven’t even yet mentioned the senior leadership ADHD, general workloads and unmeasured demands. Ultimately I am of little importance and they will switch me out for someone who can get them through the next quarter, it is a for profit business after all and who can blame them? It’s just the way it’s being carried out that makes you think the profit part is not working and you’re also now left w/o the people part as well.

I appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback. Your feelings are valid and thank you for sharing them with us. As Cornerstone has evolved and acquired companies, we are harmonizing our policies, processes, and practices to operate as one team. This introduces a lot of change. When making these changes, we aim to balance what is best for our business and our people in the long-term, while considering what is happening external and how we are evolving as a business. Changes affect each individual differently and I would appreciate hearing from you directly about how we can better support you. If you’re open to sharing more, please email me directly and I will set-up time for us to meet. - Carina Cortez

Used to be an amazing place. Now? Not so much

Unlimited vacation, good people within my department
Cons
Being taken over by those companies we've acquired. Culture has changed. Checking the boxes, counting the beans. Leadership is tone-deaf and focused on creating an image of success

Floundering Company
May 18, 2023 - Customer Success Manager (CSM)RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Your individual coworkers and teams are fantastic people. The clients are great to work with.
Cons
Tone-deaf leadership that doesn't know how to build or retain a company culture. No cohesive vision for the company's direction. Inability to successfully innovate or follow through on any given vision. Employee benefits have been significantly reduced to save the company money, giving the impression that things aren't going smoothly behind the scenes.

Thank you for your feedback. Our company has gone through significant change over the past few years, but we believe our vision, direction and strategy to execute has never been clearer. In fact, we launched our Talent Experience Platform (TXP) late last year at Convergence, held several internal and external sessions sharing our product roadmap and our vision of bringing our TXP to life. We will continue to share more and bring employees along in the process. It is true that recently we’ve made updates to our policies and benefits . For many years, Cornerstone and its acquired entities have had disparate and, often times, conflicting policies and practices, so we’ve made changes to better harmonize. If you’re comfortable, please reach out to me directly to share how we can better support you through this transformation. - Carina Cortez

Used to be magical, now it's a nightmare
May 22, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Some great people work for this company.
Cons
I used to have my dream job working with the best people I've ever met towards a community goal of customer service success. I used to be excited and happy to go to work. Now, I dread it because of decisions made by leadership that, over the past two years, has systematically removed the fun, slashed benefits to a shell of what they were, moved from an innovation model to an acquisition model (they hired us for our minds and then don't allow us to develop new ideas), frequent layoffs, and making business decisions based on their values (demonstrably money and fame). Its mental health month, as their weekly newsletter keeps reminding us, and in this mental health month they discontinued our sabbatical benefit which is directly tied to mental health. Don't worry though, everyone. They're going to lead a guided meditation in a few weeks to increase our mental health. This is a concrete example of how out of touch leadership is. This stuff happens all the time. The base salary is middle of the road but they continually slash our benefits, which is part of our compensation. This year alone they've taken away the sabbatical benefit, reimbursement for Internet, referral bonuses, and the fringe points system that were part of our total compensation package, I honestly don't know what else they can legally discontinue but I'm sure they will find them. The problem is, they never replace the benefits. I will make substantially less this year than I did last year (even after a compensation increase that was pitiful) because of these reductions. If I were to receive an offer letter for this company now, it would be a very unattractive package. If I were offered a job at this company, I would refuse. It takes months to get approval from our managers for processes because the systems for approval are bloated and painfully slow. A lot of the responses from HR state "in a period of transition and growth." we've been in this position since spring of 2020, that's three years. How long does it take to stabilize the ship? What I've realized is this will always be a company in chaos because they prefer to acquire other companies to innovate, which means that we're always going to be in a state of growth. There's no foundation beneith us were all dangling in air. Why do I stay? Because the economy is rough and jobs for my position aren't hiring. I am completely disengaged, unmotivated, and I honestly clock in, do my job, and clock out, and I was a top performer with awards to my name. I refuse to go the extra mile for a company that only gives the bare minimum to their employees. They don't deserve my excellence, they barely deserve my mediocrity. They've made it glaringly obvious that the only things that matter are money, metrics, fame for the C-suite, and clout. We've been telling them for a long time that they need to take care of employees, and they've actively chosen to continue to treat us with disregard unless we're in upper management. Leadership is extremely polarizing and the CEO has annihilated our culture. There is no culture, there are faceless, nameless wheels in a machine. That's how it feels to work here. But don't worry folks, we're meditating next week. The CEO and upper management have an image problem. They are more interested in jargon and acronyms than solid concepts. They're very focused on metrics and money, nothing else matters. What a shame, because the individual contributors at this company are smart, and caring, and expertly skilled. We're more than a metric.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. As the world of work has changed – and not just at Cornerstone – we’ve had to rethink our culture as a growing and globally dispersed company, including the types of perks and benefits that we offer. For example, what used to be Beach Day for employees local to Santa Monica, CA became Wellness Days that everyone could partake in, no matter their location (and we’ll be rolling out Wellness Days for 2023 in the coming weeks). Our Education team is also working on an initiative to revitalize our learning culture to ensure that all Cornerstars, regardless of level or job type, have leadership development opportunities to continue to innovate and grow. Change isn’t always easy and some of the decisions we make won’t resonate with everyone. The ELT is making decisions to evolve with the world in a way that is sustainable for both our business and our people. There are items mentioned in your review that will be addressed in the coming weeks and months as we wrap up the action plan in response to our most recent employee engagement survey. We pay close attention to feedback themes and have created specific action items, with a leadership team member responsible for each, to address. If you feel comfortable working with your direct manager, functional leader or me personally, it would be helpful to have a direct dialogue on your feedback. - Carina Cortez

Good people, lots of online training opportunities, ok benefits, valuable product, and a pleasantly surprising new focus on DEIB. Was really great and exciting company when I joined.
Cons
Company has been rapidly changing and growing, but seemingly at the expense of the culture and its' people. Working for Cornerstone is no longer fun. Huge shift to customer centricity (which is important), but management seems to have forgotten that you need to take care of your people too. Some new senior leaders have also been polarizing and I'm not confident they know how to lead their teams. Hiring in line with the desired culture has also gone out the window. They are now hiring for expertise without taking into account how it affects interpersonal relationships in the teams and the morale of the teams. Communication from senior leadership also doesn't feel 100% honest. They say what we wanna hear but then things happen that contradict what they say.

If you're willing, this feedback would be best shared with your Talent BP. They manner in which people work and interact with their teams is very important to us and we'd like the opportunity to address any behavior that isn't aligned with the culture we've built. Since 2022, we've increased the size of our product management and design teams ensuring we're building a good user experience. Be on the lookout for improvements every quarter!

Empowering Learning Company that Practices what they Preach.
Nov 30, 2022 - Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Tacoma, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I worked at Edcast 3 years as a contractor and just returned a month ago after they were acquired by Cornerstone. 1. The onboarding experience was great in terms of information and training materials. 2. They use their own product and it's useful to me. For example, their system for setting personal OKRs and for learning. 3. My manager (Director of ML) is very flexible, empowering, involved, and has decades of experience. 4. Great industry (learning and talent), and Cornerstone is leading in the market. 5. Provided a nice laptop with some options to choose from. 6. No strict work schedule.
Cons
1. Confusing org and team structure (the director of the team doesn't manage the engineering managers on the team), though I can understand why. I'd like to clarify all the main projects and responsibilities of each team member. 2. I'm not sure how to collaborate with others in the organization outside my team. 3. Had some security difficulties on day 1 where I had a hard time logging in and my user didn't have admin access to the laptop, but a few weeks in they did give me admin access (to install applications, etc.).
