Lack of resources, support, and business integrity
Pros
I had the opportunity to work and make decisions independently with little oversight.
Cons
For the duration of this company's existence, they have refused to invest in a CRM system or any sort of database management system for the Toronto team. The company changed event vendors constantly, and senior management in Paris often pressured Toronto employees to bully vendors into lowering their prices with the promise of a multi-year contract (which were never made, or were made and broken). Dishonest business practices continued with disregard for CASL laws while I was at the company. There is talk of growing the events, but no budget or thoughtful strategy is put into this. More than once, a decision was made by management in Paris to remove something from an event (such as a breakfast meal) that was promised to attendees. There is no money or attention paid to the attendee experience.
