I have been working at CoxHealth full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Opportunity for advancement
They will pay some or most of your education.
Employee discounts at Cox and some surrounding businesses
They allow payroll deduct for employee health, the employee store, gift shop, Atrium, and cafeteria.
    They care for our community.
    All kinds of resources

    Cons

Biggest con: When I interviewed, I was misled regarding ETO. I was led to believe that we had paid holidays and that sick time was separate from ETO. In reality, once you think you've saved up enough time for a couple days off, a holiday will come around, and your time is gone or it dwindles quickly. This would have been a deal breaker, had I known before accepting my position.

I have been working at CoxHealth full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great! The healthcare professionals are the best in the Ozark's. The culture is respected in the community as welcoming and personal.

    Cons

Without Medicaid expansion in Missouri it causes Cox and other hospitals in MO the pressures of not having the ability to compete in salaries with non clinical employees.

I have been working at CoxHealth full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great community and great care! I work as a FT RN and enjoy my unit and my coworkers. I feel like we are making a difference with our care everyday.

    Cons

Only con I can think of is the usual drawbacks to bedside nursing. Long days, hard work, difficult patients. But these are no fault of the hospital, they are the nature of this hospital beast.

    Advice to Management

Continue working to promote community and patient centered care! Stay encouraging, keep listening. Maintain open door policy, and continue to promote problem solving.

    Pros

I've been with CoxHealth for over three years now, and so far it has been a great place to work. While continuing to grow across the region, the organization has maintained the "small-town" feel by not becoming over bureaucratic. Management seems to listen to employees and there are plenty of forums to voice your opinion.

    Cons

Benefits are ok. Slow to accrue time off and it is Springfield, MO, so pay is average at best.

I worked at CoxHealth full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The patients, and co-workers, the cafeteria was adequate.

    Cons

Poor communication, pay, benefits and benefit package. Again communication wad terrible and if you are targeted, it is a which hunt to make sure you are guilty, I had no advocate or counsel present, but I dif not believe it would be necessary.

    Advice to Management

Try communication with the individual worker instead of believing heresy, Don t trust anyone, my supposed friend lied about things that where common, instead of believing the worst.
