I have been working at Creative Assembly full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great middle management, very talented and inspiring people, good compromise between hierarchy, processes & autonomy, real attention to employee well-being and evolution. High level of transparency shows real respect management has for employees.

    Cons

Horsham is not for everyone..you won't like it if you're into the urban lifestyle, even though central London is just an hour away by train.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Also, you have very talented and passionate people working here. Use this to generate and incubate innovative projects.

I have been working at Creative Assembly full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Open and creative atmosphere, they put their staff first, we don't generally work to ridiculous deadlines, they pour sugar in our mouths, and they hire the best :)

    Cons

I can't really think of anything major - the toilets aren't great? Sometimes we don't have enough spoons?

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing

I worked at Creative Assembly full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Stable good work life balance, not a crunch studio

    Cons

Poorly managed weak communication Very 'top down' structure location (obviously very subjective...you might love Horsham) very little opportunity for professional development low morale

I have been working at Creative Assembly full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - Studio really cares about it’s employees. - Lots of benefits including health care, dental, local discounts, free massages, free breakfast, free coffee and even free ice-cream! - HR does a great job of organising a summer festival and Christmas party, with lots of events in-between. - Lots of room for career progression (unless switching discipline which can be a lot more difficult). - Lovely atmosphere, lots of...

    Cons

    - Some people are promoted based on time spent at the company, rather than expertise. This leads to some stagnation and lack of creativity. - Production pipeline seems to be a bit dated. - Production varies massively on each project. - There are some cliques. - Horsham is very expensive to live in.

    Advice to Management

    - Don’t promote people for their time spent at the company, do it for their performance. - Don’t be afraid to take risks with the existing IPs. - Try and unite the company’s workflow. Currently anyone moving project has to spend time learning a new workflow which wastes company time.

    Cons

    - some clique making work environment somewhat hostile - laziness oriented - lack of good tools - loss of creativity - location, Horsham is a boring expensive city

    Advice to Management

    - trust the teams and let them more freedom to make the games - waste less time in meeting and reports

I worked at Creative Assembly full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

    - Low chance of projects being canceled - Modern office space - Free breakfast food - Overtime isn't mandatory - Nice social scene and parties - Interesting projects

    Cons

    - Management are afraid of trying new things - Recognition & benefits are not spread amongst the team - No real training or career progression - Communication is suffering as teams are growing - Salaries should be higher for the area - The location isn't the most exciting place

    Advice to Management

Invest in staff, spread training out to the wider team as opposed to a select few. Invest in tools & tech, spend some time between projects improving processes.

I have been working at Creative Assembly full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good atmosphere Lots of benefits & perks Good career progression opportunities Get to work in great games

    Cons

It´s located in Horsham, in the middle of nowhere. So expect either a long commute or a boring (and expensive) life. The marketing/brand team is bloated and ineffective and hinders the whole company and projects. There is a very distinct different atmosphere between both of the development teams/buildings.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the ping pong table in the kitchen.
