Data is still not delightful. Same goes for the company

Pros

Lots to learn about mistakes made at a failing startup. Exposure to serve one of the largest systematic hedge funds in the world.

Cons

Calling Crux the Theranos of Fintech implies that they've succeeded in "making it big", which gives the company way too much credit. The company only has one signed customer. Management is too focused with themselves and cannot execute. As mentioned in a previous post, the CTO's approach to development is having different teams build the same feature without telling either team. The result of this is that nothing was delivered and a lot of trust was lost within between engineering and leadership. Leadership lacks accountability - a wonderful example is that there is still no action taken from Crux's response to negative reviews in October. The company's inability to deliver new features and sign new customers is starting to take a huge hit on the company. Our investors are losing trust in us.

Company is pivoting to different direction and does not care about employees

Pros

- 100% remote, unlimited PTO, no premium on medical insurance - hard working individuals and teams - depending on which team you are part of - people are willing to help each other find a solution

Cons

- bad management: in the last 6 months or so. There are so many hires from director, sr. director to VP and SVP. Very top heavy. They all want to come in and implement changes without understand existing process - suddenly layoff without PIP (performance improvement plan) without any justification or rationalization - I have never seen a very top heavy company. I don't know who would do the work if everyone is a director and sr. director? - Keep hiring people who is unwilling to learn existing process and want to change it because they don't understand existing process

Collapsing from the Top

Pros

Benefits are reasonable and the remote policy allows for some separation between work and life. Getting laid off was a blessing.

Cons

1. Nearly zero transparency into metrics and reasoning behind layoffs 2. Constantly pivoting and never letting anything pan out positively or negatively 3. Incompetent senior leadership team that always seem to be going in opposite directions 4. Quite possibly the worst CEO I’ve ever experienced. Comes across as disingenuous, no executive presence, no strategy and never seems to be around. 5. Is EDP vaporware? 6. Absolutely no culture.
