Pros
Great people who, for the most part, genuinely care about the success of the customers and of course Dataiku. Plenty of smart and competent coworkers in the ranks. Good compensation and benefits, average equity. A well engineered product that carries some value (there is a but…)
Cons
The tougher environment is starting to reveal the challenges that were so far hidden behind good financial outcomes. And unfortunately the most experienced employees find themselves in a ‘I told you so’ kind of situation. There is a glaring lack of vision for the product that’s quickly getting commoditized. Technology is a one man (CTO) show in Paris with no boots in the US market. A firefighter and ‘hero’ culture that will not scale and is detrimental to newer employees. Apart from revenue orgs, there is a total lack of accountability on results. With a few exceptions, management, up to execs, are in over their heads.
