    I worked at Densify full-time

    Pros

The only pro is that you might gain some good industry related knowledge.

    Cons

This company has little to no future. Their cloud optimization product is one of many in an extremely crowded space and the product simply doesn't stand up to its competitors. There is no career growth opportunity here and if you're in sales be prepared because you'll likely sell nothing. This company is also doing nothing to increase revenue and have reduced their sales headcount to the bare minimum. They absolutely do no care about employees with layoffs and terminations coming out of nowhere at terrible times of the year and will do anything they can to avoid fair compensation.

I worked at Densify full-time for more than a year

    Pros

My team at Densify was great. We all got along well, and we had some extremely hard-working folks on the team. Our team lead, who has left the company, was great at rallying the team when we faced setbacks, and our creative and event heads were some of the most driven and organized people I’ve ever worked with. My team gave me a lot of opportunities to build out my skills, and I felt my opinion was heard and respected. I felt trusted, and the team empowered me to take on new responsibilities and push myself. Across the company, I met a lot of great folks, many of whom I intend to stay in touch with as I move on from the company. The work/life balance is pretty good at Densify, and the people are just as fun to socialize with outside of work as during. I never had an issue working from home when need be, though this may vary by department.

    Cons

While I met great people outside my team at Densify, I really had to go out of my way to meet those people. Teams exist in silos at Densify. Engineering has very little clarity into how the sales team is performing, sales doesn’t know what the product roadmap is, etc. there’s no system in place to communicate plans, successes, and failures across the company. There are far fewer young people at the company than when I started, I think in part because Markham as a city doesn't have much to offer people in their 20's/early 30's. Not necessarily a con, but something to keep in mind. The company touts a wellness program as one of the perks of working there. Last year they had an event on flu prevention where they brought in a nutritionist & reiki practitioner (aka the last person you would want to take disease prevention advice from) to speak. How about we stop supporting pseudoscience, and invest in mental health resources for our employees instead? Depending on your department (it may be different in engineering) it’s unlikely you’ll see career growth at Densify. When I started at Densify, they employed 170 people, two years later, they’re at less than 150. The company isn’t growing which means it’s hard for individuals to grow. I do find it odd, however, that despite not being able to afford to give most people raises after 2019 performance reviews, that the company could afford to promote two VP’s to SVP positions just over a month later. That recent set of promotions has brought the number of C-level and SVP roles at Densify up to 10, plus a handful of VPs. Despite all that leadership, I’m not sure Densify has a plan. Our decisions as a company are mostly reactive, with very little clarity into long-term strategy. Leadership turns its head one way, and everyone pivots to face the same direction, but by the time we get there, leadership is turning its head again.

I have been working at Densify full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I've worked here many years, this is a company that stays at the forefront of the public and private cloud markets with continual new offerings and value. The greatest part of working here is the fact that the company really does care for its team and goes out of its way to ensure employees have a rich work/life balance.

    Cons

The downside of building products that cater to public cloud market is constant change of product requirements and messaging. This can cause uncertainty for the sales and marketing teams but its not a uncommon problem in the industry.

I have been working at Densify full-time

    Pros

New coffee machine? People are friendly.

    Cons

There is no product roadmap. We are just reacting to the market. No one can close anything. They promise you the "OTE" but realistically you will be closing less than 5 deals in a year. Company is too old to change. Politics. No working from home.

    Pros

Great people in Dev, QA ,PM to work with and I loved my job. HR team

    Cons

Dont trust anyone and they are still following the trends of 1970's . Two class of employees favourites and the rest can be treated differently (forget self respect) No work from home policy and its considered only for favourite people No voice of opinion and they will ask you to share then you will be in trouble beware No freedom of speech and the boss can be bullies at times

I worked at Densify full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Typical startup company. Open Office, awesome lunch room with pool table and ping pong table, beautiful office. co-workers always willing to help anyone else. Work-life balance is no-one will contact you after hours and respect your sick days/vacation days.

    Cons

    - Company outlook and culture They haven't hit their sales quarters 2 years in a row by a longshot. they're gambling on the cloud making them more profitable. Because of this, there are constant "layoffs" and "reorganizations". There's very little job security, only for those who have been there for years won't get laid off The atmosphere used to be very awesome with everyone socializing and having drinks during lunch and after work. Now, most are afraid to even leave their desks. - career, pay, and perks There are no promotions available, they only replace people who quit. The company pays about average salaries. Check Payscale. The only thing they can promise you as a benefit is "health insurance" which is exactly the same as most other tech companies anyway. The "RRSP program" does not match at all. its one of those that exist just for the pre-tax purposes. 15 days of vacation for most employees. "social events" are required company-wide events once a quarter where the CEO tries to tell people that the sky isn't falling. They also claim to be "great place to work" but I can tell you I spoke with many and they only filled the 30-minute survey to get the managers off their back about completing it. take that what you will Same thing for the "mental wellness" thing. where I know of at least 5 people taking "mental health days" due to toxic management. Oh, I forgot to talk about management didn't I. All I can say is. Roll the dice on the department you get The CEO, Gerry Smith, looks like a cool guy to your face. But if you mess up even a tiny thing, he will go behind your back to complain to your boss. And when he does, he won't be specific, so you don't know what you did wrong at all.
