Pros

The stringent hiring process ultimately brings in team members who are often very aligned on day one. The pay is fair (for most). The benefits are good. The chance to be sent out to a tropical paradise for a few days sure doesn't suck.

Cons

Destify is obsessed with its culture, and its operational conceits. A near-religious obsession to the prevailing system in place (EOS) means there's an underlining rigidity that becomes instantly problematic for the uninitiated. In lesser terms? They toss you a book to read, and expect you'll immediately understand the litany of acronyms, and measurables you will be held accountable for — or else. The ability to offer constructive criticism is met immediately with ire instead of seeking to learn and discuss. There is a very heavy-handed hierarchy in place; behind any would-be titles, are tenured employees whose opinions hold powerful sway. This means anyone attempting to offer a difference of opinion is often ignored, corrected, or "reported to the principal" for immediate reeducation. So... you either "get it", or you get a polite boot out the door, never to be heard from again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your experience at Destify. We value the feedback of every team member and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. I noticed that you mentioned Destify's "obsession" with its culture as a con. I understand that perceptions of company culture can vary, and I appreciate your honesty in expressing your viewpoint. At Destify, we view our dedication to nurturing a strong and positive culture as a fundamental strength, not a con. In fact, I think that our obsession with culture is what has led to your first "pro" which is: "The stringent hiring process ultimately brings in team members who are often very aligned on day one." This is also a fundamental EOS Foundation. And speaking of EOS, I'm super disappointed that you were "toss[ed] a book to read." Recently we have made some great strides in creating/adding additional training resources. I would love to hear more about your specific concerns regarding our culture. Please feel free to reach out to me at HumanResources@Destify.com to schedule a confidential conversation or share additional details. -James Harrod, HRM

Pros

The pay is okay and they do offer the ability to stay at resorts. Medical, dental, and vision is good. They offer an advisor to assist you with your finances. The option to work from home is awesome since some companies still don’t offer this option. They offer outings to bring the company together.

Cons

Some people are unprofessional when speaking in meetings and this is across the board. I personally had to deal with people that were condescending, micro aggressive comments and didn’t know how to converse with people from different backgrounds. I wouldn’t recommend the company if you’re a person of color due to the lack of diversity, inclusion and equity. They constantly change your accountabilities which would be okay, but lack the skill to implement it properly and communicate it effectively. You will wear multiple hats for the role at any given moment. They want your ideas so they can create better workflows/improve the company, but if mention your contribution during your reviews to negotiate a higher raise then it is frowned upon. They removed bonuses. Example: I created a way to increase profits for the department and assist the company company with its revenue goal, but this didn’t assist with negotiations for a higher raise. The role for this company didn’t say anything to create ideas to increase revenue. The role is to retain and provide a positive experience with clients. I dealt with countless of clients that were unsatisfied due to policies and the lack of communication from the beginning of the customer journey. If you are client focused then I wouldn’t recommend this job to you since the main focus is to increase profits at this time. The pay is okay, but for industry standards its low. They do outsource, but which company doesn’t nowadays. Since they consider themselves a start up now, the additional benefits are not up to par with other start ups. They are currently not offering any % to match your 401k. If they like you then you really don’t have much to worry about. You can make errors, lose the company money, and act unprofessional on retreats and to other employees and you’ll still have a job. This can be positive and negative.

Pros

Travel benefits, flexible PTO, good people,

Cons

-Leadership cannot make up their mind and is constantly changing direction, resulting in entire quarters spent on projects that never even see the light of day. -Leadership was successful at building a travel agency, but they are experiencing severe growing pains trying to pivot to being a software company, having no idea how product development actually works -High turnover rate for developers -High rate of burnout and employee dissatisfaction -PTO requests are frequently denied, in spite of having 'unlimited' PTO policy -Forced participation in cringe culture-oriented activities
