Pros

Not micro managed, decent perks, pay is ok, get to do all kinds of exams(even if u don't know how)

Cons

Sales teams lie about services and throw field workers under the bus... All the time. Management knows about this and tells them to keep doing it so the trend continues in a loop. Promotes people who do not deserve, have no experience, and/or no education to management positions to save money. A very unethical company

Pros

Great group of people to work with. Typically finished working for the day by 3:00pm. Only work 4 days a week, no nights, no weekends, no holidays, not bad pay, super easy job. I feel impelled to write something about management because unlike all the other comments, the upper management was always very kind, receptive and knowledgeable in all aspects of the job.

Cons

Great entry level jobs but no advancement opportunities. Just like you will find with most other medical careers, reimbursement is going down and work demand is raising to an unacceptable level.

Pros

Good pay, better than what you get from working on an ambulance. A lot of OT is available and your co-workers are (with a few exceptions) good to work with. You end up working unsupervised a lot because the work area is so spread out around the state, so you don't feel micro-managed throughout the day. If your goal is just to get a job where you can work a lot of hours and make a large paycheck, you actually may end up really enjoying this job.

Cons

Benefits are not that good, very expensive and not very good quality. Management has no idea how hard this job can be, with most days averaging 12-15 hours, with heavy drive time. It can really become exhausting. The company is getting so short-staffed, you can get worked into the ground and they do not care at all. Because they are so short-staffed, you end up seeing some really unqualified people getting hired to fill the voids. This makes the job so much harder, because you will have to pick up the slack for some pretty incompetent people. Also, management is becoming really detached and could not care less about what you are dealing with each day. The long work days are really hard, when you end up seeing 15+ patients in one day, and you are expected to get the work done quickly, so you will work 12+ hours with no break in order to get it done. Taking a lunch break is not realistic with the kind of work we have to do. Management knows this and they do not care. There is virtually no advancement opportunity here. The way into management is extremely narrow and almost unattainable.

The Leadership of Digirad is always concerned with the well-being of our team members and strives to ensure we are staffed at the appropriate levels to ensure our team members have balance and we can meet our customers requirements. It is true that many times days are long due to the geographic areas we cover. Being a Moblie Imaging company serving mulitple locations requires long days at times. However, all incoming employees are advised of the long hours that may be required, are compensated for all hours worked and in many cases are given a shorten work week (less than 5 days) to address the longer work day. Our Benefit programs are quite broad and are provided through the largest, quality providers in the nation. All team members are required to take mandated meal breaks, compliance is closely monitored and all of our customers have been informed that these breaks are mandatory and must be accomodated. All of our incoming technologist must meet stringent credentialing requirements to join the team. Digirad has a relatively flat organizational structure, so management opportunities are not abundant but we encourage all team members to speak with their managers about advancement opportunities throughout the entire organization. Location mobility offers greater opportunity. I encourage this team member to reach out to their manager or Human Resources to discuss any current challenges/concerns. Human Resources
