Pros
Interesting industry to work in with lots of variety in your day to day tasks. You have the opportunity to work on some new and interesting campaigns each season, although some can be a bit repetitive. Hybrid work men's flexibility for travel and visiting family if needed. You also get 70% off DUER products.
Cons
This is not the place to work if you want to grow your career. Senior leadership refuses to hire anyone in an HR role, so things like growth and development are very much an after thought. In 3 years with DUER I only saw 1 employee earn a promotion and advance their career. The majority of the team ends up leaving to continue their career growth elsewhere. Feedback and development is really poor. Management is really uncertain in their direction and they are often very inconsistent in sharing priorities between departments. Revenue growth has slowed, partly due to economic factors like tariffs. Management has recently laid-off a number of local employees, replacing them with external contractors & agencies in the US. This was the case with PR, Creative Design and Digital & Paid Media. Benefits are also poor and RRSP matching is non-existent. You only get the opportunity to purchase shares in the company incrementally over a 3-5 year period and the number of shares you can purchase are limited an overpriced. Ultimately leadership is slowly fostering a culture of self-preservation over collaboration. Many employees feel the need to justify their own performance for the sake of job security, rather than support each other in achieving a common goal. I would highly recommend you avoid DUER until they sort these issues out.
