Pros

Laid back atmosphere.

Cons

-Completely disorganized/uninformed/untested PMs -Poor communication/direction/feedback from PMs then they wonder why you didn't do exactly as they said... -"My way or the highway" mentality on project design, even when it's wasteful and futile -No transparency on performance -Definite mediocre technical skills by some key employees -outdated tools and design methods make getting a project done difficult -too tight budgets -no on-boarding process or time to get acclimated to processes -PMs are overly cautious on design when they don't need to be and under-funded on the budget when they need to have more money -if you're looking to learn good and practical land development design, this is NOT the place, there are other regional firms with much better "experienced" PMs, design tools, and overall professionalism

Pros

I have none. This company is extremely toxic.

Cons

I experienced bullying and public humiliations at Dynamic Engineering. First let me start by saying that all the positive reviews you’re seeing for Dynamic have to be taken with a grain of salt. I’ve worked briefly in their Houston office and all those people who gave reviews recently were gone by the time I arrived. I didn’t last long either. The environment is so toxic and stressful. Everything was thrown at me at once. There was no onboarding. When I asked questions I was berated and publicly humiliated. When I made a mistake I was pressured to make emails apologizing to another engineer. I was coached when making the e-mails and it was the most degrading thing I have ever had to write in my entire career. All for one mistake I made after barely receiving any help. I had to write about what a failure I am and deeply apologize for being such a great failure. The email was never even acknowledged. It was insane. The individuals in charge at this company really do not know what they’re doing. They hire graduate engineers and give them meaningless PM titles. These people are more concerned with dominating the other employees than actually doing meaningful work. The atmosphere in the Houston office is such that it is very much like a high school bully who decides who’s in and out. People are put down at this company for the great pleasure of a few very agressive individuals. I remember tearing up after what was starting to become my daily “berating” and seeing another employee watching me from afar feeling bad but unable to say anything. I have seen another employee having to make the same degrading emails I was made to do for also making a simple mistake. It was also at this company that people would describe other people’s work at the S word. Curse words during meeting and etc… They are incapable of making constructive criticism and resort to actually insulting other employees. I have had my share of my boss making very immature comments and jokes about me during meetings right in front of me. It was also at this company that you get laughed at when you start speaking during meeting. The people in charge are extremely unprofessional, very agressive and immature. I am so glad I was able to move on to a better company where everyone is professional and respectful. I don’t see this company ever coming out of their “Mom and Pop Shop” level because there is way too much madness going in there. When I was interviewing, absolutely no one even knew of this company and it will remain that way due to the complete and utter lack of professionalism. Don’t ruin your career, stay far away from this place.

Pros

This company is a great place to work in a fast paced environment and to become a skilled land development engineer. There is unlimited potential for career advancement and earnings as you work hard and help the company prosper. I feel as though my earnings have well surpassed colleagues who work for the 'big civil firms' as they progress from title to tile at the standard 3% raise. In addition to good compensation and growth potential, you will have exposure to work on development projects large (warehousing, residential, big box stores) and small (banking, quick service restaurant, car washes). This wide range of development experience helps to make you well rounded and avoid being pigeon holed into a small specialty.

Cons

No cons working here. We do work full-time in the office which is a benefit to me as a younger engineer learning from experienced staff.
