I have been working at EDP

    Pros

Growth opportunity, emerging green technologies experience, motivated young professionals, little constraints on opportunity or direction. (HORIZON)

    Cons

POOR management, segmented divisions/departments operating at a very different pace and with little unified structure. Poor executive direction and communication of overall objectives and company-wide initiatives. UNDERQUALIFIED Mid-level management is a tremendous road block for growth potential of professional level employees.

    Advice to Management

Houston office is benefiting greatly from increased involvement of EDP, but we need to revamp and organize at Development level so that initiatives are more clearly defined and projects are more viable with less last minute issues that prevent or defer construction. Rebranding is not being taken seriously enough, this should be an opportunity to align ourselves with EDP and bring Horizon to the level of EDP as a globally...

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at EDP full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Interesting work, lots of opportunities to evolve among the different business units of the company

    Cons

Lots of competition among engineers to get a promotion. Hard to have a clear view of a career path. Don't feel really appreciated by the contribution to the company's results

    Advice to Management

Should promote a more transparent and fair distribution of the results of the company. Should improve the HR management. The HR teams should really be there for us. Don't really trust the CEO after all the public cases

I worked at EDP full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Large scale projects with big impact potential because the company is so big and the client base is huge. - Somewhat interesting business scope. - Better compensation overall but heavily diluted by outsourcing companies.

    Cons

    - Rude and controlling leadership. Not really a good fit for modern Agile methodologies. Witnessed some colleagues being flat out disrespected during meetings. - Lack of long term IT vision. Most applications within the EDP ecosystem are not properly finished, are rushed and a complete hell to maintain. - Lack of transparency. A lot of politicking behind closed doors. - Outsourcing frenzy. Don't expect to stay here...

    Advice to Management

    - Establish a full degree evaluation process. - Establish a more current development culture. - Stop with the OUTSOURCING FRENZY. This degrades everything.. work output, relationships and long term prospects. - Up your game.
