Pros

They pay your health insurance in full. And usually on Friday's there is snacks and booze.

Cons

If you ever walked around a mall and wondered "who the hell designed this, it's horrible!" , then you found the guilty group. Projects are pushed through and are dependent on Schlossberg's full approval (despite him having no architectural education, or any good contemporary design practices) and most of the projects are as diluted and boring as his personal artwork. The company should re-brand themselves as an ad agency as the design work is just as surface, cheap and sugar rushed. Poor management infrastructure, with positions solely dependent on project stability ans schedule, despite client changes. Company culture functions like a generic high-school popularity contest, cheap fast-food driven design process and a 'what have you done for me lately' atmosphere. It's expected that everyone eats lunch together at the same time. Every day. Together. Don't be surprised if you are asked to join in on a team rendition of "Kumbaya" as the senior managers who feel threatened by you are already plotting your exit.

You will be fired.

Pros

The firm does really interesting work, and some of it is even groundbreaking in terms of interactivity and engagement. The stated values are really great, as they relate to interactivity, story, design process, etc.

Cons

It seems like everyone who leaves ESI is fired. They seem to fire everyone. Watch your back. You'll likely be next. I actually heard one employee there say that he liked working somewhere where he could reasonably expect to be fired at any moment. I didn't.

Pros

1) Apple shop 2) Nice Views from office 3) Office Candy Bowl 4) 2-3 decent trustworthy colleagues 5) 4 weeks vacation

Cons

1) Leadership team is filled with micro-managers who have been there FOREVER and think there way is the only way to get any job done 2) Leadership team stands in the hallways, bathroom, around the water cooler, in the pantry gossiping about employees making it very uncomfortable to work there 3) At least 5-6 rude, obnoxious, bitchy colleagues that have no clue what teamwork means 4) CIO and CEO is the same person - conflict of interest much? 5) ZERO investment in employee growth! Not one opportunity to grow your skill set 6) The Principal Designer, who is also the owner, has no idea how very little his leadership team actually invests in the organization. For a company with only 50 employees at any given time, the owner has no clue about how certain decisions about his employees are being made 7) The company has tried to grow over the last 5 years and have failed miserably year after year - yet they continue to make the same mistakes year in year out 8) Marketing team is a joke - ALL new work comes from the owner and his connections 9) Take a look at the website and see how outdated ESI really is! 10) Feedback process - HA! Go through one cycle and you will know exactly what that is meant.
