Pros

Cool technology, latest and greatest items.

Cons

I worked at the Charlotte, NC location (Southeast). This place was a bunch of lies from the beginning. More travel than they said in the interview, they cancelled on every prior promise that was made in the interview and constantly lay people off even when business is good. I was told hours were plentiful when I interviewed, but this was not true. It is high speed environment that is pretty stressful. Even if your salary you still clock in from the minute you walk in the door to the minute you leave. Once you clock in, you make it to your desk and pick what project you're working on. Once you do that, the clock is ticking. There is barely any time on every project they have because the project manager converts it to other things, so you either knock it out and get sent home early or risk running out of time and getting laid off. Now, the other side of this is when they do get a large order, you are expected to work 80 hours a week. I hated the up and down of it. One other thing I would recommend is to check out the benefits costs before working here. They're double what I've always paid at other jobs.

Pros

Fun projects, laid back atmosphere, great employee dynamics, some opportunity for overtime if you like getting away from the wife (although, beware of working on designated holidays, management will try anything within the law to escape paying you overtime labour, despite your good-faith efforts and sacrifices. *see Stingy.)

Cons

VERY stingy with raises ($0.40? $0.60? Wtf?) despite seldomly but occasionally scoring 60% ($1,000,000+) profit margins on projects, morale within the company is at an alarmingly low level as a result. No one likes to work here because of this sheer selfishness. No one. Employees are also expected to perform additional levels of increased responsibility and to demonstrate proficiencies across them, and are not rewarded, at all. Eclipse management will ask you to travel for weeks at a time, sacrificing personally and family...ly, but will not compensate you any extra for it.

Pros

Work over many disciplines, tons of learning opportunity in automation, no pidgeon-holes, opportunities for specialized training, very experienced people open and willing to share wealths of knowledge, friendly and upbeat work environment, no micromanagement, all departments are involved in project development, some teams are still small enough to feel like every member has a large impact, all in all I love coming to work every day.

Cons

No work travel incentives. Need more competitive pay especially in high cost living areas. Need provide more incentive for employees in times of high workload. High growth company should have quartely performance/salary reviews or at least biannually (this aspect is negative because the long review periods can allow incompetence to remain in key positions for too long, effectively bogging down department short and long term growth and progression.) Larger departments tend to suffer from politics and beuracracy, instead of being meritocratic. Lack of clear direction through some multidisciplinary teams, has "wet blanket" effect on people responsible for implementing processes and projects, including people at the end of projects.
