Pros

Incredible supervisors and higher-ups. Decent benefits. Amazing community.

Cons

Physically and emotionally draining. You are pretty much cut off from everything else in your life and the world during work shifts.

Rewarding, but tough

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

- ability to sit in on therapy sessions and carry out a treatment plan - personal growth - learning to communicate effectively - learning the importance of creating emotionally safe environments - working outdoors - changing kid's lives

Cons

- long hours - lack of time for self-care - unpredictable stressors - challenging hikes (could be a pro, but sometimes it's brutal and exhausting) - not the greatest pay for what you do (but it's awesome pay for someone straight out of high school or college)
