Pros
They take care of you in terms of insurance and matching 401K contributions, and most managers I interacted with were understanding when health/life issues come up. Often allowed to work from home around holidays.
Cons
Promotions are rare and often socially determined. The person above me left and I absorbed their work but never their pay. This is what caused me to leave.
