Pros

The work offers access to a mix of interesting high technologies. But this comes with a heavy price... see cons.

Cons

In brief, it is a pressure cooker environment at the mid-level. An overbearing way of working bureaucracy is drilled down everyone's throats. There are too many managers (compared to people actually working) who spend their time making Powerpoint presentations to justify their existence to the Dutch management overseas. Micromanagement is a fine art in Wilton. Excessive number of meetings is a major drain on the staff. There is poor training and support for new employees. There is an entrenched old guard in the senior management in Wilton consisting mainly of survivors of the 2001 merger. Their decisions serve their interests and often come at the expense of the workers reporting to them. Too many engineers are burned out or have become cynical. The work site is very overcrowded and the environment is depressing. Unfortunately, HR cannot help as they are stretched too thin, stressed out, and are as overburdened as the rest of site. The outlook for future professional advancement is poor.
