Toxic place to work - Support Worker Aereon Employee Review

This role was pivotal in my career, had I not been given this opportunity I wouldn’t have ever been able to qualify for my current job.

Very heavy workload was sometimes overwhelming, but prepared me for future opportunities.

Good intro into the oil and gas industry, works directly with the bigger companies, most fabrication is done in shop so you can see 1st hand the products. Most people respected the 8-5 attitude so work/life balance was okay. Pay wasn't dismal, but not good either.

Very little assistance in priority management for bigger demands, sometimes comes down to who yells the loudest. Knowledge doesn't get passed around very well, and even then there are a lot of fundamental disagreements. Even the way things are done (internal processes) are unclear and have higher ups disagreeing. No training (they started having shop meetings with engineers and designers to help clarify some issues, but nothing about how to really do your job). The duties can be vague. There was a lot of "the right way to do a thing is the easiest way, regardless of the downstream actors". I got the feeling the management was more interested in bigger moves with the company and didn't really care about making sure the day to day was under control. I wouldn't be surprised if certain functions and areas of the company we're cut out/sold in the near future.
