Pros

Quick interview process. No real positive feedback

Cons

Reaches out constantly before you were officially started. Had to increase auto insurance for the one day of in field training. Felt like they were trained on how to let people go. No real training. Pressured to sell overpriced product. iPad barely works when in field. Sad to say I worked here as it was a real shot in the gut as they tell you how much they value you but barely train you and onboarding requirements are not realistic. Total cold call

We’re disappointed to read this. We get that sales can be challenging and feel badly that you were not able to achieve the success we both hoped you would have when we offered you the role. We do feel that we should set the record straight – we make a big investment in new employee training. During the first stage of onboarding that lasts three weeks, our training program includes 12 hours of classroom training, five individual one-on-one training sessions, and significant in-market field sales training. Over an individual’s first six months, training resources expand to include focused shoulder-to-shoulder and call-by-call training with a mentor or manager, and over eighty additional self-study modules that are available through our training institute. The onboarding requirements are reasonable and reflect the standards of a company where talented sales professionals earn a great paycheck. It’s disappointing to hear that the work was not the right fit for you, but we genuinely wish you the best in your next opportunity.

Pros

I've been working at AMP for over a year and a half now and haven't looked back. I started remotely, and then moved to Chicago, and now work hybrid in our Schaumburg location! When starting at AMP, I was fresh out of college, and wanting to get a ton of hands on experience. I started with our business development team selling virtual tours, and it taught me to be gritty, get some tough skin, hear my first no's from business owners, and really decide how I want to show up for myself for work each day. This process was hard, undoubtedly, but this is sales, and what matters is the team you have behind you and the ability to buckle in when life gets tough. Between those two traits gained, the rest is icing on the cake. Now I am a Senior Account Manager, with a full book of business, working with owners to help them grow their business. It is beyond fulfilling, and I am so proud of the professional I have grown into be by choosing to work at AMP.

Cons

On the topic of sales, you are never guaranteed success, and what matters is the ability to reflect, look for opportunities to grow, and rely on your teammates. The only con is the inconsistencies of sales, which is nothing any one company can control, but you have to choose not to spiral in your own brain, and ask for help, choose to grow and find solutions for yourself.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review of your experience with us! It’s really great to hear that you've felt supported since the start and that you've grown so much both professionally and personally! You’re absolutely right that sales can be challenging and unpredictable at times, but having a strong team, the right resources, and great mindset can really make all the difference. We’re lucky to have you on the AMP team and can’t wait to keep supporting your growth moving forward!
