Some managers don't know what are they doing since they were promoted just because they were good individial contributors before but do not know how to motivate or remove road blocks to their people. Tight on budget for essential things and simple people recogniton for them to keep the loot themselves. Senior management are masters of political plays and their integrity is very much questionable especially after company aquisitions. Very stressful for those who are still employed. Don't rely on HR as well.
