Pros

I have a solid background in sales. I am very genuine and want to be honest with whoever reads this. This company is not terrible it's just not "easy". When you think of remote work you think of relaxation, freedom, etc. This is the opposite (you are expected to work as hard as if you were in an office), which is why you see so many people leaving bad reviews. This company has been through a lot, they have a structure for WFH people that funnels out the bad weeds and keeps the people that sell. You are trained very well but there will be turnover in the class. The ones that left early I could tell this job would not be for them. The people who are complaining about changes are a little bitter. We are all adults, if we are taking this job we understand what we are getting into (low base in hopes we make more in commission). It's a sales job! It's not easy and it is draining. Unlike some, I do not care about the stock prices, managers being underqualified, etc., I was hired to sell. This mental attitude allowed me to succeed so far. I had a burn-the-boats mentality, one way or another I will succeed. If you are crazy like me and dare to give this job a try, I'll see you at the top. If you are scared because of reviews then don't apply, the choice is yours. (Simply put a "pro" is you get hired, you get paid and your equipment is provided, insurance is provided as well) If you want more than this make it happen.

Cons

I'll be honest. My recruiter told me I would be paid "$500" if I made one sale in training. He did this to me and many others in my training class. I found out this was a lie but I didn't care. I didn't take this job for a little "500", I wanted more so I kept pushing. I think this should be noted that your recruiter may be a fast talker. I could easily write about KPI's or things being changed but that's life. I don't care if they made the KPI as high as the moon I'll still hit it. The Con is that if you can't handle this then trust me you won't last long.

Pros

1. The work is mostly interesting and challenging. 2. My team is pretty awesome. I'm very lucky and grateful to have ans engineering manager that really takes an interest in the well being of our team, but still strives to make a strong impact in the company. Everyone on my team is very supportive and willing to jump into solving a problem at a moments notice. There are no egos on my team. 3. The work from home policy is fantastic. I get to save commuting money, but I never feel "alone". We have daily standups and ad-hoc meetings, so we collaborate frequently. 4. There is some opportunity to learn new technology, though I would prefer if it were more often. 5. Management seems pretty transparent and honest with the company. I never feel like the C-suite is hiding anything. We have regular "all-hands" meetings where they discuss the state of the company, our success and failures, where we are going as a company and how to get there. I really like that communication and honesty. 6. Angi is regularly asking for feedback to improve itself. That is wonderful, and rare. I've worked at previous companies that never did anything like this, and it showed. I'm very glad that Angi is always striving to be a great place to work. 7. Angi is serious about clearly documenting our work. Whether that's holding RFC meetings, writing spike docs, or just building simple information docs in confluence. 8. Angi has onsites where employees can travel to meet in person. I've been to a couple and they are great. Would love for this to happen more often. I sometimes here they plan twice a year, but that doesn't always happen.

Cons

1. Angi has a lot of outdated code and systems, decades worth. This causes some serious issues with the products, and makes working with them significantly harder than it needs to be. Luckily, management is aware and has initiatives in place to migrate off these legacy systems. Just a matter of when. 2. Like many companies these days, Angi is trying to use AI more in daily work life. This has pros and cons. So far, I have not seen the benefit of it, hence I'm posting in the "cons" section. I think there is a general lack of knowledge on how to use it. 3. Lately there has been a push to "move faster", especially now with the adoption of AI tools. I have seen teams making some poor choices, resulting in costly mistakes. I would love to return (at least a little) to a slower, more thoughful approach. A "measure twice, cut once" approach, not "ship now, fix later".

Pros

- The people who are in the trenches with you in this role are awesome!

Cons

- This company has gone straight down hill. I worked for Angi for many years, and as time goes on, it gets worse and worse. - They continue to change the compensation plan for the worse. Most top reps have left. - Managers NEVER held accountable for anything. They only hold the sales reps accountable. - The upsell director is a real piece of work. Talk about being fake..... - Sales reps are just numbers on a spreadsheet for this company at the end of the day. Truly sad to see what has happened to this company over the last 2 years. - They laid off their entire Leadership Development Program. Their "hire from within" mantra is a blatant lie. Not a single sales rep has been promoted to manager in 15 months. They have been hiring from the outside more than ever.
