Pros

50% off discount, seasonal coupons with better discount Started out with great staff (management and associates), but not enough resources to retain If you're favoured by management you get hours and can get away with bad behaviour Still better than some other retail companies, but I don't see this lasting long

Cons

When you're hired they brainwash you into thinking the company cares about you personally, will respect your work-life balance, but then they will cut hours because the sales are not on par with the American stores (which doesn't make sense because Canada doesn't have the same demographics, holidays, sales, customer loyalty programs). But when there is a head office visit they will pressure you to work long hours and schedule you against your availability. When there is a shortage of hours, they will schedule 2 staff in the store even during peak hours. Then you get scolded for having bad conversion rates, letting theft happen, messy store. Made me work when I was sick (which resulted in getting coworkers sick) because there are rules to min and max hours for each staff (the shift was only 4 hours but there was no flexibility for swapping). So much for work-life balance. Everyone is fake, two-faced, and upper management encourages this. Management is told to always be nice, caring, flexible with staff and clients, but upper management does not give you the resources to do this. They were nice to me the whole time I worked there but I would run the other way if I bumped into any of the management now. Management gives conflicting instructions about the company policies. By the way there are no company policies, which allows clients to harass the staff. Staff are told to just take it as long as the client is happy. Staff are pressured to work very hard. If I worked this hard at a commissioned store I'd make twice the salary.

Pros

Good entry-level retail job, especially for beginners. The work environment is generally positive, and scheduling can be flexible depending on store needs. It’s a solid place to gain retail experience, especially if you’re new to it. Employee discount is 75% in-store and 50% online, except for clearance.

Cons

Upper management tends to overlook smaller store issues, which may later develop into larger problems if not addressed early. There's also a strong customer-first approach that sometimes feels one-sided, in which difficult customers are often accommodated even when they're in the wrong. This can occasionally be frustrating for employees trying to enforce store policies. But hey, that's hospitality. It's still a good place nonetheless because of the store team.
