Pros

I have been with Igloo for about a year and during that time I have seen some amazing changes. The CEO has brought in new leadership across the board and the leadership team is really starting to gel. There is a new buzz across all departments and a belief that what we are working on will truly change the way people work - the product we produce and sell is pretty amazing. The company recently took over a new floor, which added some greatly needed space since it was getting crowded. We have a new company vision that is gaining traction with prospects, the sales team is getting more aligned and development has more focus. The “engine is starting to run well”. This is a fun place to work and if you take the time to collaborate with the smart people here you can learn something new every day. The company is in a great location with lots of food options for lunch and venues to socialize after work. There is a great diversity of people and experiences here and for the most part everyone is positive and willing to work together to get things done. My manager is supportive and there is lots of opportunities to interact with the CEO and other executives. Open door policy for all of the execs which is great. There have been some new initiatives to get feedback from employees and new focus on culture so it’s great to see that management is listening.

Cons

Like every rapidly growing company there are bumps in the road and there are some people going through the motions and those are the ones who complain and will never be happy. Like most others in the company, I don’t let those 2% of negative people bring me down (and see above comment about changes to the culture). Parking is a pain if you are in a rush, but leave your house 5 mins earlier and enjoy the 2 block walk from the parking garage to work. I have worked at other places where management was cold, dictating and not willing to listen. That is not the case here.

We are focusing on culture and listening to our employees to ensure we a growing with them but with recognize there are some growing pains in high growth environments. We know parking can seem far at times, especially in the cold, but happy we can provide free parking (or a green incentive for those who choose other means to get to work) to all employees. We look forward to continually working towards our vision with employees and changing the way people work.

Pros

Appspace has offered a great work-life balance, a willingness to embrace new ideas, and an environment that’s supportive without creating constant performance pressure.

Cons

Some of the challenges I’ve experienced at Appspace have been leadership inconsistency due to organizational changes and turnover at the upper-management level. At times, decision-making authority felt limited, which slows progress. There also needs to be more structured coaching and mentorship opportunities from senior high performers to help support continued growth and development.
