Pros
- All of my colleagues that i work along side are lovely people - Great after work events - Relatively up to date equipment - new offices
Cons
- Terrible pay (I've had people with similar jobs laugh as me when i tell them my pay). Profit share is treated as if its part of your pay package but can be taken away with 0 notice - Pressure to always be making the business money. Management doesn't want anyone to have any overhead time and wants 100% billability on everyone's timesheets - Work finding is a mess, and its about 'who' you know. More visible employees will hoard work to avoid problems with previous point and get stressed while lower grade employees wallow in billability hell begging for work - Almost no investment in new products. Stuck in a loop of 'New products must be making money before Arup will invest' and 'These products cant be developed unless they have funding' - Morale has bottomed out with lay offs, leavers and 0 profit share. Combine this with previous points and it paints a picture of a very stressed underpaid workforce
