Pros

The other people there were great, and the immediate managers really want you to succeed.

Cons

This place is a factory that recruits newcomers in bulk, with promises of 6 figure income if you just work hard enough. The reality is, you get a list of numbers to call and you are expected to sit there making cold calls for 8 hours a day, deceiving senior citizens by implying (but never saying outright) that you are with Medicare and have important information about their insurance benefits. On the rare occasion that you actually book an appointment (mostly with low-income people who can't afford much), you are trained to quickly explain their medicare benefits, but then turn it into a hard sales pitch for life insurance. It's the worst kind of bait and switch tactic, and it's preying on our country's senior citizens. If you actually DO make a sale, which is hard to do if you are an ethical person who actually cares about the person you're sitting with, they give you the full year's commission upfront, before the client actually makes all the payments. So guess what happens in a couple of months if they change their mind or realize they were tricked into buying life insurance? That's right, the commission gets snatched back out of your bank account. Most of us were working our hearts out just for the tiny amount of commission we earned, and spent the commission as soon as we had it, on frivolous things like rent and food. So when the chargebacks happened, our bank accounts went into the negative, causing us to amass bank fees and lose even more money. By the time you realize this place knows it's a terrible system but is counting on sheer volume of recruits for them to make money (the company and management gets a cut of all your commission), you storm out of there. In the meantime, they have brought in 5 people to take your place. They claim you can make it with hard work, but literally no one there worked harder than I did, and by the time I left, I had made less than $1000 total for my months of 80 hour weeks, and I owed my bank hundreds in bank fees. This place is a pit of unethical despair, and I strongly urge you to run the other way as fast as you can. If you are a sales shark who doesn't mind preying on senior citizens, this job is perfect for you.

Pros

Bankers provides award winning training, an elaborate product portfolio and a rapidly growing market. They leverage cutting edge technology: contact and LEAD management, electronic business submission, an incredible proprietary mobile application. I have 11 companies I can be appointed with - making sure my clients get the best program for what they NEED. A great opportunity to receive great training, work with great people and make a great living, all for helping people.

Cons

This opportunity is just that, an opportunity. Those who don't take advantage of it won't think it is a good one. Even successful people deal with a ton of rejection, thick skin is needed. With a 40% closing ratio, I still hear "No" more than "Yes".
